Goo📢 ANNOUNCEMENT: SIERRA LEONE PWDs & INCLUSION SUMMIT 2025
We are pleased to announce the second edition of the Sierra Leone PWDs and Inclusion Summit, an event led by adolescents and young people with disabilities who are working to shape a more inclusive future in Sierra Leone.
The summit is hosted by Action for Differently Abled Children’s Action for Differently Abled Children Network - SL, in collaboration with the Children's Forum Network- CFN kenema with Partners Welfare society for the Disabled NCPD Nyapui Radio 106.1 FM Kenema and Sierra Leone Commercial Bank Kenema.
📍Venue: Holy Trinity Parish Hall, Kenema City
📅 Dates: 4th and 5th December 2025
🕘 Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
📌 Theme: Creating Inclusive Futures and Resilient Communities.
This year summit will bring together youth with disabilities, youth activists, community leaders, journalists, Organizations of Persons with Disabilities , and national stakeholders from both rural and urban communities across Sierra Leone. Our goal is to provide a platform where young people with disabilities can speak for themselves, share their experiences, and help shape practical solutions that support equal participation in education, leadership, community development, and employment.
A key part of this year summit will focus on popularizing and raising awareness on the with Disabilities Act of 2011. We will examine the progress made so far, identify existing gaps, and encourage stronger implementation to ensure full protection and participation of persons with disabilities nationwide.
Over two days, participants will take part in:
☑️ Intergenerational round-table dialogues
☑️ Panel discussions with government, civil society, OPDs, Journalist and private sector actors
☑️ Youth leadership and mentorship sessions
☑️ Experience-sharing activities
☑️ Community awareness campaigns and radio discussions
Certificates will also be awarded to outstanding PWD leaders and advocates who continue to inspire progress within the disability community.
This summit is more than an event. It is a space for visibility, leadership, and collective action led by the young people who understand these issues best. We invite the public, partners, and supporters to join us as we work together to strengthen disability inclusion and build resilient communities across Sierra Leone.
