The Director of Foundation for Youth Empowerment and Advocacy (FYEA), Foday Sorie Kamara, will deliver a statement before a gathering of young climate champions at the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) Sierra Leone 2026 in Freetown.

During the session, he will engage with young people on critical climate-related questions, share his experiences as a climate champion, and inspire the next generation to take meaningful action in addressing the climate crisis. 🌱

The Local Conference Of Youth Sierra Leone is almost here. Young people, stakeholders and duty bearers, heads of institutions from across the country are preparing to come together for the Local Conference of Youth, a space built by young people for young people to shape what climate action looks like for Sierra Leone.

This conference did not happen on its own. It is the result of months of work by our co-hosts and partners, from the Regional Youth Consultations held across districts to the Tree Planting Exercise at Ojuku Junction, all leading up to this moment.

Today, we successfully concluded the second edition of FIT TO LIVE -Community Fitness & Wellness Activity, and we are truly grateful to everyone who came out to _connect, exercise and thrive_ with us.
A big thank you to the young people, women, footballers, community members, elders, staff of participating organisations, and all our partners for making the day vibrant and memorable.
