CEO Opening Statement on the 28th March on our National Women Watermark Conference 2nd Edition

Our Honorable Members of Parliament
Resident Minister, Northwest Region
Our honored Paramount Chiefs,
Distinguished guests
Ladies and gentlemen!!

As a Daughter and Grand Daughter From Kychom Samu Chiefdom, Kambia District I want to Humbly say Good Morning

I feel honored and grateful for this day. Years ago, whilst i was meditating the countless ordeals that our vulnerable and voiceless women encounter in their daily lives, I nurtured the birth of Timap for Womens Empowerment to not only serve as a footprint to liberate women and girls but also a guiding bridge for women economic and social independence.

With a team of dedicated volunteers, committed philanthropists, we vowed the realization of what began as an illusion. We knew there were countless hurdles to overcome yet on the midst of roaring torrents we set the sails for a suicidal mission.

During this Five years we navigated through the district of Kambia and even beyond reaching out to vulnerable women, touching souls in real times of need.

The theme for the 2nd National Women Watermark Conference "Mentorship Matters- Lifting as we climb" is an internal and external reflection of how Timap have come along through the years. Internally we remain strong due to contributions of others who had been supportive of our vision. Thank you to all our gallant supporters. Externally, we collectively stand to lift other vulnerable Women in our communities to enhance their success.

This theme shows us that, the journey to success is beyond solitude and isolation but a collective effort. It indicates that development thrives in societies where vulnerable groups are empowered and strengthened.

Our women continue to face unique challenges amidst the general economic social and political hurdles engulfing our society. Mentorship is a valuable tool for their liberation. It helps them traverse the unprecedented barriers to the transformation of their lives. In mentorship we prepare potentials, we build a stronger foundation to give our girls dignity, voice, value and success. we not only help them be present, but ensure they are heard. They feel lifted as we go along.

Ladies and gentlemen, today I want to challenge every man and woman sitting here and beyond: be a leader and not a boss; be a mentor and lift others along your path; set a legacy that is worth emulating.

Let us all Timap for the full empowerment of our great and brave women and girls They need us and we must not disappoint them. It is never too late to start. Let us start from where we stand, we should work with what we have. Remeber to get ahead you should get started

THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU

As we celebrate the International Women’s Day, I stand with the resilient, resourceful, and ready to lead women of Sierra Leone and beyond.

Timap For women empowerment Sierra Leone (TFWE) 🇸🇱 honors and proudly recognize the invaluable contributions of our women in holding our communities together, paving the way for a new, equitable direction. Together, we've made countless sacrifices for the growth and development of Mama Salone. Your strength and resilience is our nation's greatest assest.

TFWE, is dedicated to breaking the bias and ensuring equal opportunities, from the rural to urban settings, from the farm to the market, from the classroom to the boardroom.
We recognize that while we as a nation have made strides with the GEWE Act, true empowerment requires breaking down remaining barriers, from rural inequality to digital exclusion.
Our commitment is to ensure that women are not just present, but empowered to be heard and hold leadership positions across all sectors. Let us move from advocacy to action, transforming our nation by investing in the potential of every woman and girl to live with dignity, pride, and self sufficiency.

Long live the womanhood and humanity and may Allah Subhanalu wa Ta'ala bless our beloved Sierra Leone
