Assessing how Berny’s Hope Foundation's Child Safeguarding Initiatives (BHFCSI) can reach hard-to-access communities

Early this morning, together with a team of volunteers from Berny’s Hope Foundation, we visited a remote community in Marampa Chiefdom to assess how our child safeguarding initiatives can better reach hard-to-access areas.

What we witnessed was truly heartbreaking. It is deeply concerning that there are still communities where the majority of school-age children are not attending school. Many of these children have big dreams and aspirations, yet they are denied the opportunity to access education and build a brighter future.

Although the Government's Free Quality Education programme exists, for many families in this community it remains something they have only heard about. In this particular village, more than 30 children representing nearly 80% of the school-age population are out of school.

Denying children their right to education and other basic necessities is a grave injustice that requires urgent action. Every child deserves a safe environment, access to quality education, and the opportunity to reach their full potential.

At Berny’s Hope Foundation, safeguarding the wellbeing of children is one of our highest priorities, but protecting their future through education, advocacy, and community engagement is our ultimate commitment. We remain determined to reach the most vulnerable children, no matter how remote their communities may be.

At Berny’s Hope Foundation, we illuminate lives with passion.
