HE BECAME YOUR SUBSTITUTE

A mere asking for forgiveness cannot compensate for the price of sin. The wages of sin is not something that you can easily talk out way out of. The wages of sin is death! Romans 6:23 *For the wages of sin [is] death...* Specific people did not sin, all men sinned and fell short of the glory of God. And all are therefore guilty. Romans 3:23 *For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;* So thinking you are able to pay for your sins with innocent or emotional words that will move God and automatically make you righteous is vain thoughts. The penalty is death not words! God being merciful created a way out by making His Son our substitute.

He was blameless, He knew no sin. Tried in every aspect yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15 *For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin*. As sinless as He was, He had to become our substitute. 2 Corinthians 5:21 *For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him*. The price you ought to pay for your sin(which is death), He paid it for you in full. He took your punishment of shame, was spat upon, was beaten, was disfigured, was provoked till death. But He endured the punishment till death on the cross. The judgement you were to faced for your sin was upon Him. He took your place wholly.

If God was pleased with the sacrifice of His son, He is pleased with you. Being our substitute, we became partakers of His suffering and death by faith. Being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: You don't have problems with God as a believer for Christ's sacrifice on the cross pleased the Father. When God sees Christ, He sees you in Him. He took your place and face the wrath of God, and gave unto His righteousness. You have been eternally redeemed and set free from the bo***ge of sin, for Christ was the substitute. God bless you. *Jesus is glorified*

WHEN GOD IS INVOLVED

It is obvious as a believer that things will get tough, situations might want to defeat you and circumstances may try to break you when God is taken out of the picture. Even in the faith, suffering is still present and active. There are trials and tribulations but for you, the Lord is present to help. When you were saved, you were connected to a new source for strength, empowerment and direction. This source is the presence and involvement of God. 2 *Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.* God faithfully looks after His own and cares for them and ever present with them even in the worst of situations

The involvement of God is not limited to you having Him in your life. It spreads to a vast range of having Him in everything you do. Proverbs 3:6 *in all your ways acknowledge him...* Whether it is job, academics, relationship and life challenges, let God be involved. You have nothing to lose but everything to gain when He is involved in your affairs, but you will miss a lot when He is not. The scripture continues and say ‘and He will direct your path’. We are called to deliberately and intentionally put our faith and trust in God, that He’s involved cooperatively with us in our affairs.

When God is involved, new ideas start creeping in, this natural life begins to make sense when it wasn't making one, rugged roads straightened, life goes in a direction aligned with His purpose for us. Involve God in that situation, don't give Him the back seat and try to do things your way with your limited wisdom. The bible tells us that God cares about every aspect of our lives. *The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives*. Let God be involved in all you do. Trust Him with all your heart and acknowledge Him in all you do and you will see the difference when He is involved cooperatively. God bless you. *Jesus be glorified*

DO IT NOW

There is an interesting short story which gives a description of the false hood of tomorrow. "There was a customer that went to purchase some stuffs from a shop. He met the door close with a tag written *'TOMORROW WE ARE GOING TO GIVE EVERYTHING IN THE SHOP TO OUR CUSTOMERS'.* He went home happy and later realised that the same tag will speak of another tomorrow and concluded that tomorrow will never come. Whatever that is essential and needed for you to do, do it now. It is interesting to know that procrastination is something that won't harm anyone but yourself.

God won't be hurt when you procrastinate, it won't harm Him when you do. But it restrains you to maximise your potential. It restrains your spiritual growth, because you will always be in a position of waiting for tomorrow to act. The idea of tomorrow can be seductive, but the promise that it holds is often false. Anything worth doing is worth doing immediately. *As it is commonly said procrastination is the mother of stagnation*. There is no specific tomorrow to be born again. When you hear the message, don't harden your heart in rejection of eternal life. Hebrews 3:15 *As has just been said: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion."*

Believe in Jesus and be saved. Acts 16:31 *They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.* Being a born again has nothing to do with age difference. Some have spent many many years in the faith and their growth is very slow to a point it’s hard to notice. All because of procrastination and laziness to study the word now and pray now and go for fellowship with the brethren when it’s time. Doing it now is a catalyst for growth while procrastination is a catalyst for stagnation and ultimately retrogression. So don't wait but do it now. You don't have an agreement with tomorrow as to whether you will see with it. Whatever is needed for you to do, do it now. God bless you. *Jesus is glorified*

THE BEAUTY OF CONTENTMENT

Contentment has often been a trait which people view as “weak” to have. It is a trait that is often link with laziness, not ambitious enough or lack of vision. But yet still it a trait God wants us to have.1 Timothy 6:6 *But godliness with contentment is great gain*. If that is the case then our statement about contentment CAN'T be true. Contentment is a trait every believer should have. It is a state God wants every believer to be, because it's a state of dependence and trust in Him. Hebrews 13:5 *Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."*

You see, the whole concept of contentment is you actually appreciating and enjoy where you are or what you have at a certain point in your life. Simply because God is in absolute control your life. There is no sense of weariness or stress because our Joy comes from the Lord, we don’t need to generate this for ourselves, Nehemiah 8:10 *Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength*. There is no sense of pride because we know who is actual doing the work, Psalms 118:23 *This is the LORD's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes*, neither is there any sense of unbelief because we know who is in control(Deut31:8).

Another thing to note is that with the world, “every man for himself “ is a REALITY, putting your interest first before others is a MUST. You must be SELF-CENTERED. But if we as Christians need to fulfill what Christ told us to “love our neighbors as we love ourselves”, CONTENTMENT is a must to have. For us as Christians to fully exhibit love at it fullest, we should not view people as a COMPETITION, RIVAL, or A STEPPINGSTONE to success, but rather as a FRIEND, a BROTHER/SISTER and a COMPANION. Where his/her success is our success, this actually kills envy and jealousy. With contentment we have the platform to exhibit love, Gloryy!!. God bless you. *Jesus is glorified*

YOU HAVE BEEN MARRIED TO CHRIST

Taking the concept of marriage in description of the relationship the believer has with Christ, is one good way to describe the new life of the believer. Marriage we all know is a bond or tie between two individuals in which both are taken as a whole after certain marriage declarations. It is a covenant that holds the two together. They become one. The only thing that should bring about the separation of marriage is DEATH, nothing like divorce is to be considered. Romans 7:2 *For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage*.

So death is what allows someone to remarry. Before we come to the knowledge of the truth, we were dead, married to the sinful nature which we inherited from our first parents (Adam and Eve), under the bo***ge of the law. Romans 5:15 *But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man...* But by virtue of the love of God, that marriage was broken because the nature of sin died and you were no longer under the bo***ge of the law the day you believed in the finished work of Christ. You died with Christ, made alive with Him and became His bride with your life hidden in Him. Romans 7:4 *Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God*. You have been married to Christ Jesus.

The marriage life you have with Christ is a unique one. Nothing is going to separate you from His love for you. Romans 8:38-39 *For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord*. You are going to live with Him forever. You are His bride. Death cannot and will not separate you, because you’ll love forever with Him, the eternal God who has given you eternal life. URGENCY IN THE KINGDOM

Imagine those times that you will be late for work or class. Do you recall the mood you always find yourself when positioned in such states? You will run to class, run to take the fastest means of transportation, all you want to do is reach as fast as you could to get things done. It's called URGENCY. You are urgent and feel burdened, with consciousness of the ramifications of being late. No one needs tell you walking sluggishly will put certain activities at risk, you are in haste to go about your business or the business of your boss. Urgency is a state of having a pressing need to attend to.

There is always urgency in the kingdom. It's not a prophetic declaration that has to do with time. It's the present pressing need for the propagation of the Gospel that must be attended to. When Apostle Paul received the Gospel, he was urgent. In all his intent, he just want it to reach to the ends of the earth. Acts 9:20 *At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God*. His eyes of understanding was opened up to the truth. God became His father and the Gospel became his father's business. He treated his father's business with urgency. No prophetic declaration of when the world was to end moved him. Love moved him for his father's business.

Urgency for the kingdom has to deal with urgency for the Gospel. When Jesus saw the multitude, He was moved with compassion, because they were like sheep with no shepherd. Matthew 9:36 *When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd*. It's not just about the limited time for the world to come to an end, but importantly it's about the limited time you have in the world. It's not about rapture is taking place soon, it's about how soon you will leave before rapture if the Lord tarries. What will you do with the limited time that you have. Our Lord said, He must work while it is day for night will come when no man will work. Let this be the same drive of urgency for us. *Let times and seasons be God's, let His business be yours*.
