🌾🌱 FROM THE SWAMPY LAND TO A BRIGHTER FUTURE! 🌱🌾
Today, we are proud to share another important step in our Youth in Agriculture journey.
We are now on our swampy rice plantation, working toward our target of cultivating four (4) plots of rice that will serve as a community seed bank for future planting seasons.
This is not just about planting rice. It is about planting hope, creating opportunities, empowering young people, and strengthening food security in our community. 🌾
Our vision is to make agriculture a viable, attractive, and sustainable livelihood for young people, while contributing to long-term community development, resilience, and self-reliance.
We are especially excited and grateful to see community stakeholders joining us on the rice plantation. Their presence, encouragement, and participation have inspired and motivated our young farmers to work even harder.
🤝 When a community comes together, great things become possible.
Every seed we plant today represents a step toward a stronger tomorrow. With the support of our community, partners, volunteers, and well-wishers, we believe these four plots can become the beginning of something much bigger.
🌱 We are not only cultivating rice—we are cultivating young leaders, livelihoods, food security, and hope.
From words into action. From the swampy land to sustainable development. Together, we are growing! 💚🌾

From the Mountain Slopes to the Swampy Lowlands
Our journey of transforming the land into productive farmland continues with great determination. From the mountain slopes to the fertile swampy lowlands, we are making steady progress toward achieving food security and sustainable agriculture.
We are pleased to announce that our swampy land is now fully prepared for rice cultivation. As a starting point, we are targeting five (5) rice plots for this planting season.
This rice cultivation initiative is more than just food production—it is the foundation of our community seed bank. The harvest will provide quality rice seed for future planting seasons and support a soft seed loan program, enabling farmers and community members to access seeds for cultivation and repay after harvest. This approach will promote self-reliance, strengthen food production, and ensure that quality seeds remain available within our community.
Every step we take brings us closer to building a sustainable agricultural future. We thank everyone who has supported and encouraged the Ogoo Farm Family on this journey. Together, we are cultivating hope, empowering communities, and creating lasting change.

Together, we will continue to empower our community, support our youth, and work towards sustainable development.

"Our plans alone will not change lives. Learning something new alone will not change lives either. Real change happens when we put what we have learned into action. Our resilience becomes our greatest strength when we turn our words into action."
The Youth in Agriculture Project is excited to share another important milestone in our farming journey. We firmly believe that progress is achieved one seed at a time, and today we are beginning to see the results of our hard work, dedication, and commitment.
We are pleased to report that the first green shoots have emerged from our mixed-cropping plantation. The maize, cucumber, okra, Crain Crain, and cassava that we planted have successfully sprouted from the soil, marking a significant step forward in the development of our farm.
This achievement reflects the teamwork, determination, and resilience of the young people involved in the project. Each emerging plant represents hope, growth, and our shared vision of promoting food security, creating opportunities for youth, and building a sustainable agricultural future for our community.
We remain grateful to everyone who continues to support and encourage us along this journey. Together, we are proving that with action, patience, and perseverance, small beginnings can lead to great achievements.

Today was both exciting and eventful for the OFF Team.
Before going further, we would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation for the financial support we received from Mr. Sanpha Kamara and Mr. Bai D. Kabia, which helped provide food for the workers. We also received a bundle of purified drinking water from Madam Fatmata Sillah and Mr. Foday Alimmy Kamara. Their generosity has contributed positively toward achieving the goals of our project.
We continue to look forward to many helping hands to lighten the work and support this important initiative. Smile…
Despite the rainfall, we remained committed and continued planting cassava sticks and crain-crain. The weather did not stop our determination to move forward.
We say thank you to everyone for your attention, advice, inspiration, motivation, and continued encouragement. Your support strengthens our resilience and inspires us to keep working towards a better future for our community.
Warm Regards,
OFF Team

Youth in Agriculture Empowerment Project – Ongoing Planting Activities
The Youth in Agriculture Empowerment Project is making steady progress as planting activities continue on the farm. Participants have been actively engaged in preparing and cultivating the land to ensure a successful farming season.
To improve efficiency and teamwork, the youths divided themselves into different work groups, with each group assigned specific responsibilities in the field. Some members were involved in brushing and clearing the bush, others focused on digging and preparing the planting areas, while another group carried out the planting activities.
The project is promoting mixed cropping, which helps improve land use, diversify production, and enhance food security. The varieties being planted include:
• Cucumber
• Maize
• Okra
• Crain Crain (local leafy vegetable)
• Cassava sticks (cassava cuttings)
The enthusiasm, cooperation, and commitment demonstrated by the young participants reflect their growing interest in agriculture as a source of livelihood and community development. Through these practical farming activities, the project continues to equip youths with valuable agricultural skills while contributing to increased food production and economic empowerment within the Ogoo Farm Community.
Despite the progress made, there remains a need for additional support in the form of farm tools, safety gear, and other agricultural inputs to enable the youths to work more effectively and safely.
