RYDO-SL a non-governmental organisation in-Conjunction with Bread and Water for Africa in the United States of America set to donate hospital mattresses to twelve (12) Health Facilities in Bumpe Ngoa and Kakua Chiefdoms as many rural hospitals and clinics lack sufficient, high-quality hospital mattresses, leading to discomfort for patients, potential health risks, and contributing to the spread of infections.

This project aims to donate twin beds mattresses to twelve (12) rural health facilities in Bo District, while promoting community awareness on proper healthcare facility usage and basic infection prevention.
GOAL:
To improve the quality of care in rural healthcare facilities by providing twin beds clean, and comfortable hospital mattresses.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
▶️Improve comfort and safety of patients through quality mattresses.
▶️Support rural clinics to reduce infections and promote healing.
▶️Foster trust in local healthcare systems

From Bumpe Ngao to Kakua chiefdom, we are working to ensure that every patient has a clean, comfortable place to heal. By providing these essential twin mattresses, we aren't just improving beds—we’re reducing infection risks, fostering community trust, and supporting our dedicated frontline nurses.
Together, we are transforming the quality of care in Bo District. 🇸🇱✨

A member from Rural Youth Development Organization Sierra Leone, RYDO-SL paid a surprising visit to Mr. Mohamed Monrovia garden at Kondiama Bo district, a participant who benefits from the 2025 farmers training skills program funded by Bread and Water for Africa (BWA) to see if what he learned from the training is actually put into practical application, and indeed our efforts never wasted and we will be visiting others soon.

🌱 EMPOWERING FARMERS, TRANSFORMING COMMUNITIES 🌱

From 31st October to 7th November, Rural Development Organization Sierra Leone (RYDO-SL) successfully conducted an intensive farmers’ training program funded by Bread and Water for Africa (BWA) across seventeen (17) communities in Bumpe Ngao Chiefdom.
The training brought together 85 dedicated participants, comprising 50 women and 35 men, with a strong focus on inclusive participation, practical agricultural skills, and sustainable farming practices. Participants were equipped with knowledge on improved farming techniques, productivity enhancement, climate-smart agriculture, and community-based development approaches aimed at strengthening rural livelihoods.
This initiative reflects RYDO-SL’s continued commitment to empowering rural farmers, promoting gender inclusion, and enhancing food security at the grassroots level. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the farmers, community leaders, and partners whose support made this program a success. Together, we are cultivating resilience, prosperity, and sustainable development in rural Sierra Leone. 🌾🤝
