Today, Youths in Action for Poverty Alleviation-SL (YiAPA-SL) had the privilege of donating one bag of rice and some essential medicines to support the agricultural activities of our dedicated farmers.
This contribution, though modest, carries deep meaning. It reflects our commitment to strengthening the health and productivity of our energetic team members. We extend our sincere appreciation to all our sponsors and well-wishers whose generosity makes these interventions possible. Your support is not just an aid, it is a powerful investment in sustainable livelihoods and community resilience.
Together, let us continue to empower our farmers and build a stronger Sierra Leone.
Thank you for believing in our mission.

Thanks to our VSLA (Village Savings and Loan Association) project, a strong farmers’ cooperative has been born. Today again, our members were actively on the ground clearing land and planting groundnuts together with dedication and unity.
From the pictures, u will notice the spirit of resilience among the team members.
This is more than just farming, it is economic empowerment in action. Through the VSLA, our members are saving, accessing small loans, and investing in agriculture to improve food security, increase household income, and build a brighter future for their families.
We are proud to stand with these hardworking farmers as they transform their community.

This is what youth and Women empowerment really looks like: not just talk, but action.
We are incredibly proud of these young champions. But we can’t do it alone. We need more tools, seedlings, and support from philanthropists, donors, or partners for our team as well to reach more communities.
Together, we can turn more young lives into stories of success.
Support "Youths in Action for Poverty Alleviation - SL" for more transformation.

On May 1, 2026, the leadership of Youths in Action for Poverty Alleviation (YiAPA) and partners from Ministry Of Agriculture and Interweave solutions conducted a strategic field visit and community stakeholders' meeting. The primary objective was to finalize plans for the expansion of communal farming land to increase local food production and enhance the socio-economic resilience of the community.
During the engagement, YIAPA staff including his partners from the Ministry of Agriculture, Interweave solutions and community members reached a consensus on the following:
To Identify and prepare additional plots of land to scale up current agricultural outputs.
Going further, the team decided that the expanded plots will also be dedicated to the cultivation of Groundnuts, Corn, pepper and Okra due to their strong market demand in the Bo District.
Furthermore, Technical assessments were conducted by the Ministry rep.and my partner from Interweave solutions on the soil quality. The enthusiasm of the local youth and elders highlights a strong communal commitment to transitioning from subsistence farming to a more sustainable, large-scale model.

To successfully bring these expanded plots of land into full production, YIAPA is seeking support from donor partners and well-wishers. Our immediate needs include:
Seedling support
Basic farm implements and tools for land clearing and food for work.

This expansion is a vital step toward our goal of self-reliance and poverty alleviation. By increasing the scale of our agricultural activities, we are ensuring that the Kegbai community of Tikonko Chiefdom has the resources necessary to move forward after we leave to another community.
