In an effort to capacitate young people in Bo and Bombali, Global Platform Sierra Leone with support from IGNITE Funds through GLOBAL PLATFORMS Secretariate hosted three (3) days training on Green Jobs for young people in Bo. Thanks to the Executive Director of ActionAid Sierra Leone for his impactful contribution to young people in Sierra Leone and also assuring young people during the training that ActionAid Sierra Leone will continue to support Global Platform and youth led organizations to build entrepreneurship mindset. Thanks to Saikou Darboe from Global Platform - The Gambia for the online engagement on Green Jobs with emphasis on unpaid care work and decent jobs.

Global Platform Sierra Leone with support from IGNITE fund hosted three days Climate Boot Camp for 60 young people in Bo. The training focused on building the knowledge, skills, and action-oriented leadership skills of young people to address climate challenges.

Global Platform Sierra Leone and Partners (Green Leone and Aspire inovatation Youth Empowerment hub) engaged schools and Communities in Bo to commemorate World Environment Day (June 5th) on the theme 'Beat Plastic Pollution'. Plastic is made from fossil fuels (oil and gas). Its production and disposal release large amounts of greenhouse gases, contributing to global warming. The engagements ended with symbolic tree planting as a measure to protect and make the school environment green and safe again.
