Our fifth and final day was spent back on the Hron River 🌊 Although the weather was quite cool and the river was significantly swollen after the recent rain, everyone performed exceptionally well throughout the day 💪
🚣‍♀️ Navigating a high-water river requires much more concentration, precise steering, and constant teamwork. The stronger current and changing river conditions made today's 10-kilometer section both challenging and rewarding.
😊 We successfully completed the training, overcame every obstacle, and most importantly, everyone finished the course safely and in good health.
A great ending to an unforgettable week full of learning, adventure, and international friendship.

🚣‍♂️ Slovakia – Erasmus+ Project 🇸🇰
Day 4 brought a change of pace. 🌧️Due to the heavy rain, we stayed off the river and focused on an indoor training session dedicated to water safety and rescue skills.
🦺 Throughout the day, we learned about the proper use of life jackets, rescue techniques, water rescue theory, risk assessment, and the key principles of staying safe in and around moving water.
📚 We also explored how to plan a river trip safely and effectively. Participants became familiar with useful online maps, river information platforms, water-level monitoring tools, weather forecasts, and educational websites that can support both beginners and experienced paddlers.
💡 Although we were not paddling today, it was an extremely valuable day. Understanding safety procedures, trip planning, and emergency response is just as important as developing rafting skills on the river.
😊 Another productive day filled with learning, teamwork, and sharing experiences with our international group.

Day 3 on the Hron River is already behind us, and it was another fantastic experience 🌊
Today we started our journey near Banská Bystrica, in Iliaš, and paddled all the way through Zvolen, covering a beautiful section of the river 🚣‍♀️
☀️ The weather was excellent, making the day even more enjoyable. Along the way, we successfully overcame numerous obstacles, mainly exposed rocks and rapids, which tested both our skills and teamwork.
💪 With every kilometer, we gain more experience, confidence, and understanding of river navigation and safe rafting techniques.
😊 Great people, beautiful nature, and another unforgettable day on the water!

🚣‍♂️ Slovakia – Erasmus+ Project 🇸🇰
Day 2 on the Hron River is behind us, and it was another day full of learning and adventure 🌊
Today we covered 18 kilometers, improving our paddling skills and gaining more confidence on the water 💪
The Hron is a fast-flowing river, yet not a dangerous one when approached with respect and proper knowledge. Understanding the river, reading its flow, and working together as a team were key lessons of the day 😊
Another great day spent in nature, with wonderful people and plenty of new experiences 🚣‍♀️🌿

🚣‍♂️ Slovakia – Erasmus+ Project 🇸🇰
Our new Erasmus+ adventure has officially begun! Together with participants from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Portugal, our group of nearly 20 people spent the first day on the Hron River 🌊
☁️ Although the weather was a bit cloudy, it stayed dry, allowing us to fully enjoy our first day on the water.
💪 The focus of the day was learning and practice. We gained valuable knowledge about the river, improved our paddling techniques, and learned how to navigate and paddle safely as a team.
😊 A beautiful day, great people, and lots of new experiences — a perfect start to the week!

🇵🇹 Portugal – Erasmus+ Project 🌊

Day 3 showed us one of the wildest faces of the Paiva River 🌊🚣‍♂️ We faced several big and small challenges along the way, but together we managed to overcome them all and safely reached the shore 😊 The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was amazing, and once again we learned a lot and improved our rafting and water sports skills 💪🌿 Another unforgettable day with a fantastic international team 💙

Day 2 on the Paiva River brought even more excitement 😊 Although we covered fewer kilometers this time, the river was much wilder, faster, and full of adrenaline-filled moments 🚣‍♂️🌊 After the adventure, we enjoyed a true Portuguese feast together — great food, great atmosphere, and even better company 🇵🇹Another unforgettable day with an amazing international team 💙

🇪🇺 This bikepacking tour is part of Explore the World on Two Wheels, a project co-financed by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ programme.

Emlékezetes és élményekkel teli kerékpártúrához volt szerencsém csatlakozni az ősszel. A 14 napos, csaknem 900 kilométeres útból én magam három napon át mintegy 200 km-t tettem meg, de már ez is életre szóló tapasztalatot és élményt jelentett.
