Naši ustanovni člani so Damir Mrkonjić (predsednik), Damjan Maher (podpredsednik), Miha Hrovat (tajnik) in Borut Zalokar (blagajnik).
- John Muir
The Forestry Society was founded on February 15, 2021 in Prebold, where forestry camps were already present before World War II. Our founding members are Damir Mrkonjić (president), Damjan Maher (vice president), Miha Hrovat (secretary) and Borut Zalokar (treasurer). Founder and ideational leader Damir Mrkonjič began his involvement with forestry at the age of 12, as he found an indescribable peace in the forest and sought knowledge on how to live in nature. His first inspiration was found in the book Rolf gozdovnik (Ernest Thomson Sethon), considered the father of forestry, and in the book Gozdovnik Pešendaš (R. Hönn, Založba Borec 1986), where he discovered that forestry was already present in our region. This inspired him to revive the tradition of forestry. Our society is based on individual learning about the forest and survival skills in the wilderness. We emphasize the importance of modern bushcraft and preserving the knowledge of our ancestors. We are ready to learn everything necessary for survival in the wilderness and are delighted to share this knowledge with others. If you are looking for an organization that will teach you everything you need to survive in nature, then the Forestry Society is the right choice for you. "If you want to learn about the forest, you have to walk it and get to know it as living beings." - John Muir
