Why koru? 🌀
In New Zealand Māori culture, the uncurling fern leaf is known as the Koru. While it primarily symbolizes new life and growth, its circular flow suggests a 'return to the origin.' This duality allows the Koru to represent both the energy of change and the stillness of peace.
We chose this symbol because it perfectly mirrors our belief that growth is not a straight line, but a gentle, unfolding process.
The Unfurling: In nature, uncoiling requires the right conditions. Our work is to support the safety that allows this process to happen—moving from a state of contraction toward one of expansion. It is the transition from self-protection to self-expression.
Returning to the Center: The spiral represents a journey inward. In our somatic work, it symbolizes the safe return to our own center—our state of regulation—when the world around us feels chaotic.
Unique Rhythms: Every fern unfurls at its own pace. This is the heart of neuro-inclusion. We believe every nervous system deserves its own time, space, and tools to feel safe and included.
