🇪🇺 OPEN CALL FOR SELECTION:

Open call for 6 lucky participants to represent Slovenia in the special EU youth project “H2Opportunity”!

This project takes place from 18-26 September 2026 on the two breathtaking volcanic Islands of Madeira & Porto Santo, Portugal.

🎯 ① PROJECT ACTIVITIES:

* Eco-Exploration: Map water footprints and analyze island climate challenges.
* Exclusive Site Visit: Go behind the scenes at the Porto Santo Desalination Plant.
* Digital Skills: Create multimedia sustainability campaigns that get noticed.

💸 ② FINANCIALS (ZERO COST):

* 100% Funded: Your accommodation, 3 daily meals, coffee breaks, and the group ferry between the islands are completely covered.
* Free Travel: Your flight tickets and transfers will be reimbursed within the official EU budget limits.
* Resume Gold: Receive an official EU Youthpass Certificate upon completion.

📌 ③ ELIGIBILITY:

* Aged 18-30 (no upper age limit for the group leader).
* Based in Slovenia with basic English skills.
* Motivated about sustainability and eco-action, and active participation.

The EU conference “Sustainable Aspects of the Individual and Community” took place in Kamnik as one of the outputs of the KA220-YOU WP5 project.

Our main expert speakers:
▫️Sinan Mihelčič - Strategic representative of the Municipality of Kamnik and owner of Štajn, specializing in urban infrastructure, circular economy, and spatial development.

▫️Dr. Dominik Herle - Author, researcher, and philosopher holding a PhD in Humanities from the University of Ljubljana. Having studied in the USA, his work focuses on migration, demographics, cultural identity, and human values.

▫️Lara Bernot - Sustainable fashion designer and founder of Lara Bernot Design, specializing in fashion design, sustainable textile techniques, and environmentally and ethically responsible clothing.

▫️Dr. Noah Charney - American professor of Art History at The American University and the University of Ljubljana, bestselling author, Ambassador of Slovenian Tourism for the Slovenian Tourist Board, and host of the Feel Slovenia podcast. His work connects culture, tourism, sustainability, and heritage.

▫️Jure Gubanc - Philanthropist and founder of rehabilitation centers based on the Back Mechanic methodology developed by Dr. Stuart McGill and official publisher of the book Back Mechanic. His work focuses on physical rehabilitation, health education, and long-term well-being.

Moderator Lea Ardani introduced the core theme by emphasizing that true value lies in revitalizing our existing identity, space, and people. Building on this concept, Boris Ravbar (Undersecretary and Head of the Department for Development and Investments at the Municipality of Kamnik) provided an overview of the local support context, development priorities, and investment activities for these sustainable initiatives.

The event concluded with networking in the historical garden and live music by 2Brothers & The Others.

Our team lead, Jure, is on the ground in Ukraine, working directly with heroes who are rebuilding strength, adapting to bionic prosthetics, and reclaiming their independence. 🦾💪

Alongside the Superhumans Center and Don Bosco, we also support displaced families and children with food, shelter, and stability.
