Adelia Naomi Yokoyama is on her way to Tokyo for the 2025 Summer Deaflympics! 🇸🇬🎳✨

She is set to arrive in the Land of the Rising Sun at 14:30hrs (local time), ready to take on the world once again.

Armed with unwavering determination and an unbreakable competitive spirit, Naomi will be defending her Deaflympics gold medal in the Women’s Singles bowling event. As the reigning World Champion and Singapore’s sole representative at the 25th edition of the Deaflympics, she carries with her the pride and hopes of our entire nation.

Naomi’s achievements speak volumes of her talent and tenacity. At the 2022 Deaflympics in Kuala Lumpur, she clinched two medals — a gold in Women’s Singles and a bronze in Women’s All Events. Her momentum continued at the 2023 World Deaf Bowling Championships in Munich, where she secured the Women’s Singles gold, marking a historic milestone as Singapore’s highest-ever achievement in the world deaf bowling landscape.

At this year’s Games in Tokyo, Naomi will once again compete in the Women’s Singles event, scheduled from 18 to 20 November 2025. All eyes will be on her as she aims to deliver another outstanding performance on the global stage.

In 2024, we experienced a period of necessary hiatus due to a confluence of complex challenges. It is important to acknowledge that no organisation, regardless of its mission, is immune to unforeseen obstacles and the need for strategic realignment.

Recent claims by certain parties regarding their alleged understanding of deaf sports are unfounded. The national body for Deaf sports (obviously the DSA) possesses the unique and irreplaceable expertise and knowledge in this domain. It is therefore perplexing to witness these parties proclaim to represent our mission and vision. 🤔

We are committed to making 2025 an exciting year for the deaf community in Singapore. We will continue to foster a vibrant sporting culture that empowers deaf athletes and celebrates their passion and dedication. 💪

It's time to get excited for all the action-packed fun of the NDG2023 Futsal tournament happening tomorrow (9 Dec 2023) at Homeground Sports starting at 9am!
