Not even going to attempt to record a workout on Tik Tok because fitness is not my forte, but what I do know for sure is that the founders of - a d2c workout shoe brand - have a pretty interesting start-up story. Coming from backgrounds in Product Development with Adidas and HYPEBEAST, the Shorrock brothers have since followed in their father’s footsteps as a footwear developer.

LANE EIGHT is one of the very first vegan sneakers birthed in my home city, Hong Kong! These shoes are made of natural and sustainable materials with 11 bottles worth of recycled plastic, 64 cubic meters of CO2 captured, and 31.5 litres of water cleaned, completely vegan.

Influencers are a key part of the wellness market. In the US, Europe and Japan, 10-15% of consumers say they follow social media influencers and that they have already made a purchase based on an influencer’s recommendation.

POTENTIAL STRATEGY FOR STARTUPS 📊: Use influencers to win with your consumers across social channels, partnering with agencies (or other influencers themselves) to identify the people who will be a natural fit with your brand and resonate authentically with your target consumer base. 

Case study 📌:.sg is a local Singaporean Athleisure brand providing matching workout sets catered to an Asian fit and is suitable for all types of activities. Butter have adopted Social commerce, which is what happens when a brand takes the best of e-commerce and combines it with social media. Social commerce is a $89.4 billion market right now. It’s projected to grow to $604.5 billion in the next seven years. E-commerce refers to a shopping experience via a website or dedicated branded app. Social commerce is not e-commerce. Are you thinking about all the possibilities for your customer’s shopping experience?
