Some of our services are:
• Food Rations Distribution Service
Distributing food ration packs regularly on monthly basis is part of our organisation’s service to offer items of basic needs to needy individuals and families with financial difficulties.
• Befriending Service
The befriending service was established primarily to benefit the elderly, the lonely, the sick, the terminally ill, the physica
lly or intellectually challenged that have poor or no family and social support. Befriending volunteers visited the beneficiaries’ home individually on weekly basis and offer their personal time and attention to provide companionship and emotional support to the clients.
• Social Service Activities
In SYCC, we also deliver other social service activities for the disadvantaged in our community. These activities include hair cutting, home maintenance services, outing and visitations for direct clients of SYCC and other voluntary welfare organizations.
• Wellness Community
SYCC is operating a community wellness centre called Wellness Community. Our goal is to provide social services to assist socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in the community area of Kampong Ubi and Kembangan (K*K) Constituency. Services are matched to individual’s and family special circumstances or requirements. We offer case management services, recreational programmes, free meal services, community events & celebrations, art groups and public education programmes for the residents.
• Yuan Yuan Helpline – Mandarin Telephone Counselling
Yuan Yuan Helpline (Mandarin Helpline) was formed in 2007 by a group of volunteers to help people in need of telephone counselling services under circumstances such as bereavement, critical illness or other crisis. At the same time, there are also people who simply need a listening ear, when the going gets tough.
• Beach Cleaning
SYCC has been supporting a green planet for years. We hope our services can help the community to build a better mental health care system, through a better living environment. Therefore, we started the monthly beach cleaning programme in 2006. We always hope that our initiatives will contribute to protecting our environment.
