The is here—a time of joy, indulgence, and, let’s be honest, all the rich foods that can leave us feeling heavy and sluggish. Between festive feasts and endless treats, it’s easy to overlook the nutrients that keep us energised and thriving—like iron.

If you’ve been feeling unusually tired, scatterbrained, or like you’re about to catch every cold going around, it might not just be the late-night wrapping sessions. Sometimes, it’s about what’s on our plates.

Iron is the unsung hero of our bodies, helping red blood cells carry oxygen so we can stay vibrant and full of life. And while meat often gets the spotlight, plant-based foods such as lentils, leafy greens, tofu, and seeds are packed with iron too. So, sneak them into your meals even in the season of cookies and eggnog. 🌱

This time of year, eating consciously isn’t about skipping the treats or guilt-tripping yourself. It’s about giving your body a little extra love so you can soak up every ounce of holiday magic—without the dreaded energy crashes.

Love meat but want to live healthier? 🌍

Many people enjoy the taste of meat, and in Singapore, 42% of people still consume red meat at least twice a week. However, reducing your meat intake can have a significant impact on both your health and the planet.

Research shows that incorporating more plant-based foods into your diet can improve heart health, lower your risk of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and certain cancers, and even help with
better weight management and reduced inflammation. 🌿 By cutting down on meat, you can also lower your LDL (“bad”) cholesterol levels, improve digestive health, and potentially increase your longevity. Even small steps, like switching out a few meals a week for plant-based options, can contribute to your overall well-being and help protect against preventable
diseases.

Ready to start? Small changes can lead to big benefits—for
you and the environment. Swipe to learn how you can get the
same flavour from plants.

Pigs aren’t just about oinks and squeals—they’re singers too! 🐖🎶

While pigs might not be known for making the most pleasant sounds to human ears, there's more to them than their happy chorus of oinks and grunts. These lovable animals are actually capable of a sweet kind of music—mother pigs sing to their babies while nursing, helping piglets bond with their moms. Pigs communicate in over 20 different ways, sharing everything from hunger signals to social bonding cues. Their rich emotional lives and intelligence show why they deserve so much more than a place on our plates.

Let’s honour them not by consuming them, but by letting them live freely. 💕
