This World Environment Day, the planet is speaking. 🌍

Heatwaves. Rising seas. Extreme weather.

These are the signals, urgent and impossible to ignore.

At Zero Waste SG, we believe that zero waste is climate action. Not someday. Not perfectly. But right now, through the small, daily choices that add up. ♻️💚

Swipe through to see three signals you can send using zero waste as a guideline 👉

♻️ Want to help shape the future of recycling in Singapore? 💚

It's been almost a year since the launch of our Sort It Out Recycling Hub in Queenstown. As we mark this milestone, we're embarking on a community survey to hear directly from residents and understand how recycling habits and behaviours have evolved!

Join us as a Zero Waste SG Ambassador and help collect valuable community insights to strengthen our Sort It Out campaign, making recycling right easier and more effective for everyone.

✨ No experience needed. Just a listening ear, a love for interacting with people, and a passion for creating a more sustainable future through the 5Rs. 💚♻️🌏

🤝 Bring a friend! Volunteers will be paired up, so sign up together or come along and meet like-minded folks.

K1 & K2 cohorts.
Three modules.
Three months.
One BIG zero waste journey. ♻️✨

Zero Waste Explorers landed at Les Petits Gaulois, where preschoolers transformed into young eco-champions diving into the world of waste consciousness through storytelling, hands-on activities, and circularity in action.

From everyday waste to small actions that create big impact, these little eco-champions are already bringing what they’ve learned home and inspiring change beyond the classroom. 💚

Who says circularity education can’t be fun and for preschoolers?

And it doesn’t stop here! Zero Waste Explorers also has curriculum designed for primary and secondary school students as well!

Want to bring Zero Waste Explorers to your school or classroom?
We’d love to explore the journey with you. 🌏

We’ve heard about BCRS.
We’ve seen the Reverse Vending Machines helping us recycle canned and bottled drink containers right. ♻️

But what about the other single-use disposables we use every day?

Disposable food containers: even when recyclable, food residue often contaminates them.

So is recycling enough? 🤔
Or do we need to move further up the 5Rs to Refuse & Reduce?

That means one simple thing: BYO. ✨

Many F&B outlets in Singapore are already supporting BYO by:
☕ Offering incentives for reusable cups and bottles
🥡 Accepting reusable takeaway containers

👇 Your turn:
Do you bring your own cup or container for takeaways?
Have you noticed BYO discounts?
What would make BYO easier for you?

Our Zero Waste Marketplace is going places! ♻️

In commemoration of Earth Day 2026, we collaborated with Givaudan and Singapore Prison Service to curate customised Zero Waste Marketplace experiences that inspire and champion a more waste-conscious lifestyle amongst their employees. 🌍

Built around the principles of reduce, reuse, recycle, and repurpose, our Zero Waste Marketplaces brought together like-minded partners, eco-conscious brands, and sustainable products from A Million Books, Ecoline, Ento Industries, fumblesjumbles, MoNo Foods, My Naked Bar, Semula Asia, and The Sustainability Project. 💚

From eco-booths, to engaging educational talks, to fun and interactive games, and hands-on recycling workshops, participants discovered how mindful consumption and choices can reduce waste and collectively create a postive impact for our planet. ♻️

Something’s brewing in the reuse scene… 👀♻️

Introducing the Singapore Reuse Coalition - a new non-profit alliance championing return, refill, repair, repurpose, and other circular systems to give reuse a stronger voice in Singapore.

Reuse isn’t just the “R” before recycle. It’s a better, more resource-efficient way to reduce waste, and a critical step towards circularity.

We’re honoured to be playing a big role in the Coalition in the months to come. Together with like-minded members from Chemistry team, Commenhers, DrBags, Ecoworks, KGS, Muuse, and Pass It On Sustainable Urban Lifestyle, the Coalition is working on a white paper to advance Singapore’s reuse economy, pushing for systemic, infrastructure-level change, not just individual action.

Watch this space as the Singapore Reuse Coalition takes shape 👀
Find out more at reuse.sg.

In the meantime, keep BYO-ing. Bring your own bottles, bags, and containers and cutleries! Every time you reuse, you automatically reduce waste and care of our planet. ♻️

What’s one reusable item you never leave home without? Let us know in the comments👇

🌍 Happy Earth Day 2026! 🌍

Earth Day began 56 years ago with 20 million people demanding a sustainable future. Today, we face a similar question: How do we live alongside our planet, and not just live on it?

The good news? We already have a playbook: the 5Rs of Zero Waste. Refuse → Reduce → Reuse → Recycle → Rot

You don't need to do all five perfectly. Pick one R this and tag us to showcase your progress 💚

Our planet’s resources are finite. We’re living as if it has no limits. Something has to change. Our planet's future depends on what we do today. ♻️🌏

Zero Waste Explorers (ZWEX) volunteer educators training in action! 🍎♻️✨
From one classroom to another, we trained the trainers. 🌱🎒

So stoked to partner with Institute of Education (NIE) and have their amazing student teachers join us in bringing circularity education to preschoolers. 💚

For a day, they stepped into the world of 3-6 year olds and learnt how to make zero waste fun, meaningful, simple, practical, and relatable for young learners 🌈♻️

ZWEX is our circularity education programme for 3-16 years old. Love working with kids & youths, big on sustainability, and ready to make an impact? Come join us as a ZWEX volunteer educator! 🙌
