The HoME+ (Home Monitoring and Eldercare) Programme, 24/7 assistance, uses smart technology to help seniors live independently and safe at home.

Our deaf members have gained insights into the usefulness of different sensors, with their functions being installed at home to keep seniors safe.

1. Presence Sensors - to be placed in the living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen area - can sense if the senior has had a fall at home and will trigger quick emergency response assistance.

2. Door Sensor / Keyfob sensors - Let the Red Cross know if the seniors are at home.

3. Portable Panic Button - Handheld buttons seniors can press directly for immediate medical emergencies.

A big shoutout to John and his team from the Singapore Red Cross and Jonathan, the volunteer interpreter, for making this event accessible and informative to our deaf senior community.

Prawn Fishing
4th July 2026 (Saturday)

Prawn Fishing indeed demand patience and persistence before it finally paid off!

DHHFS Members happily fish for prawns successfully. Some bought them home to cook while others had them freshly grilled on the spot and enjoyed their yummy succulent prawns. ❤️

A good time bonding with them is a cherish itself 🫰🏼

Museum of Food Tour

A visit to the Museum of Food brought back nostalgia of the long-forgotten cooking utensils used to prepare food in the past, which are now lost to modern times in Singapore.

After the tour, members were teamed up for a crossword puzzle game about food. For example, the animal that Ang Ku Kueh is shaped after, is Tortoise and the Malay Word for Spice is Rempah!

Our warm appreciation to Emily Yeo and Yeo Min for preparing light snacks for us to enjoy dipping in with sambal chilli and Coriander Chutney (green sauce) - our members' hot favorite!
