Buddhist Library Promoting a holistic understanding and appreciation of Buddhism through study and practice

A unit of the Buddhist Research Society, the Buddhist Library is a non-sectarian organization that houses an extensive collection of Buddhist literature that covers all three major schools of Buddhism – Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana. It now has more than 16,000 books in English and Chinese covering various aspects of Buddhism, including scriptural texts, doctrine, philosophy, ethics, meditatio

n, devotion, art and architecture. The Buddhist Library conducts numerous English courses to promote the Dharma (Buddha’s teachings) among the resident population in Singapore. The Buddhist Library has periodically received distinguished Buddhist monks and scholars from various countries to deliver lectures and participate in seminars.

✨Nāgārjuna and the Middle Way: Emptiness Without Nihilism, Wisdom Without Dogmatism✨

Discover one of the most profound thinkers in Buddhist philosophy. Across 10 weekly sessions, this course introduces Nāgārjuna through key chapters of his major work, the Mūlamadhyamakakārikā (MMK). Designed for both serious students and sincere lay practitioners, we will explore how the Middle Way transforms our view, meditation, and daily life.

Each lesson blends textual study, philosophical explanation, guided reflection, chanting, meditation, and practical application.

👨‍🏫 Lecturer: Dr. John Lee (Jono Rusly), an independent scholar specializing in Yogācāra, Madhyamaka, Chinese Buddhism, and Buddhist ethics who holds a Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University and Master’s degrees from the University of Kelaniya and the International University of Japan.

⏰ Time: 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM
