On Wednesday 30 September 2026 an essential member of R2S, Harpreet Singh was born and we stand grateful that at a point is his successful career and family life, he turned into both an incredible cyclist and benevolent individual.

Happy Birthday Harpreet ! We hope you are having a fantastic time. Thank you so much for always being there for Ride To Serve. We also take this opportunity on behalf of Sikh Welfare Council to thank you for playing and important role to help raise funds for the needy in Singapore.

The weekend that just passed was incredible with distinguished members of our Cycling Team getting together to tackle the challenging slopes of Barelang in Batam island.

Like reservist units of a Commando or Infantry platoon, our soldiers displayed amazing team spirit and togetherness- while some have been keeping combat fit, others had to catch up, but no one comrade failed to conquer the quest!

The trip to Batam marks the start of our 2027 Grand Ride that's already in the pipeline. We are tightening all the back end screws before we commence our main publicity that as always aims at being multi pronged:

- Retainment / Recall of existing and former riders

- Recruitment of new riders and marshals

- Attention to our mission and vision

- Highlight of all our public service activities

- Fund Raising !!!!

We also have confirmation of continued collaboration with Sikh Welfare Council at this year's prestigious "Naam Ras" prayers in December.

AND YES ! We have started planning the Big Annual Ride for 2027....

We gathered on Monday evening to outline all the various scopes imperative to kick start our double edged- Fund Raising & Singapore- Malaysia expedition.

Plenty of details shall be shared a.s.a.p, as the committee sets foot into all the essential planning areas.

For now let's just share one very crucial agenda at our meeting : RECRUITMENT!

Gurbinder Singh is a Singapore-based cyclist and community rider for Ride2Serve, who believes in using every mile to make a positive difference.

A passionate advocate for service, he combines his love for cycling with fundraising efforts that support meaningful causes and inspire others to give back.

After completing 518KM with *Ride2Serve* this year, raising funds for the Sikh Welfare Council (SIWEC), Gurbinder is now taking on the Sikh Helpline 350mile challenge (560 Kilometres) starting from Edinburgh Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 to Birmingham England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 to help raise funds and awareness for the vital work of the Sikh Helpline. The charity provides confidential support to people facing mental health challenges, domestic violence, substance misuse, bullying, racism, discrimination and many other personal crises, *regardless of race, language, ethnicity or religion*

For Gurbinder, SHL350 is about far more than completing a ride, it’s about standing in solidarity with those who may be struggling in silence. Every kilometre represents hope, resilience, and the belief that no one should have to face life’s challenges alone.

A very small preview of our Thank You & Appreciation Dinner Party on Friday 8 May 2026.

We selected this reel as a starter so we know that the committee has already started planning 2027 Grand Ride scheduled in March with one firmed destination that we all missed dearly in 2026- Malacca!!!

In our previous years of rides, we have always visited as many Sikh Gurduwaras (Temples) and have had the blessings of even being rewarded by traditional breakfast prepared by well wishers from the home states in Malaysia.

In 2026 owing to some strategic planning to make the Ride more comprehensive after 2025's 8 days Ipoh to SG adventure, we finally on today, Day 3, have had the chance to visit Batu Pahat Gurduwara.

As always, patrons of the Temple went out of their way to prepare Guru Ka Langgar (Meals from the Guru's Kitchen) for our cyclists and marshals.

We like to really really thank the Sikhs of Batu Pahat and their religious Institution for welcoming us with open arms and feeding us unconditionally.

The spiritual essence for us shall definitely make our final leg home - Monday 30th March (5pm onwards at Central Sikh Temple Boon Keng) much smoother and recharged.

Day 3

Mersing to Batu Pahat and then tmrw Monday 30 March they shall cycle back home to Singapore.

Yes they may be tired but the levels of determination are unprecedented!

The team knows that behind the energy and endurance lies a Motivation called CHARITY !

We are still raising funds for the disadvantaged in our very own Singapore community. Please help us achieve our Goal which we have not made easy-
