💉🦵Can combining platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with hyaluronic acid (HA) improve knee osteoarthritis care?

Our Exco members Dr Mandy Zhang and Dr Victor Tan led a clinical trial to find out. Over 12 months, both PRP+HA and HA alone improved pain and function in people with moderate knee osteoarthritis. Interestingly, PRP+HA showed a reduction in bone marrow swelling on MRI, hinting at possible structural benefits.

💡 Their findings shed light on how we can better tailor treatments for patients seeking relief and improved joint health.
