Supporting patients and families affected by blood cancers

Services:

Counselling (Individual / Family):

Our in-house counsellor provides emotional support to our beneficiaries and/or their family members to cope with anxiety, grief and loss, bereavement and other forms of emotional distresses that might arise from beneficiaries’ medical condition. Confidentiality is of utmost importance in all our counseling relationships. Counselling sessions are sched

uled on an appointment basis and are conducted in our counseling room at the Foundation. Home visits are also offered as an alternative when beneficiaries are feeling too physically ill to travel to the Foundation for counselling. The in-house counselor will also conduct home visits to assess our beneficiaries’ coping capacities in their home environment, family dynamics and financial situation. If needed, the counsellor can link the beneficiaries to other resources in the community. Beneficiaries’ Support Programme:

Beneficiaries’ Support Programme is a service by Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation for our beneficiaries who are newly diagnosed or suffering a relapse of their medical condition. The support and friendship that the beneficiaries receive from their befrienders will help them to build resilience and strengthen their inner resources so that they are better equipped to withstand the negative emotions and/or doubts which may arise during their treatment period prior to remission. Each befriending relationship will be unique as befrienders will be specially matched with the beneficiaries according to their life experiences and/or backgrounds. Befrienders will be from diverse backgrounds and they will be volunteers who are above 21 years of age, have a heart for our beneficiaries and enjoy befriending them. Befrienders are required to have a basic certification in counselling. LLF will work hand-in-hand with the befrienders to provide training that will equip the befrienders with skills to build strong befriending relationships with their beneficiaries. Prior to the start of a befriending relationship, all befrienders are required to attend a briefing cm training session. Support groups and on-going training during the befriending process will be provided to help befrienders have more meaningful sessions with their beneficiaries. This in turn gives befrienders valuable learning opportunities for their own personal development. In the long run, this programme can be extended to non-beneficiaries.

At Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation ["LLF"], every story is a reminder of why our mission matters.

🌐 LLF has remained committed to supporting patients and families affected by blood cancers through financial assistance, advocacy, awareness, and patient support initiatives.

Behind every diagnosis is a person.
Behind every patient is a family.
Behind every journey is resilience, courage, and hope.

This feature is part of our documentary series, Their Voices Unfiltered β€” a platform for honest conversations, lived experiences, and reflections from individuals connected to the blood cancer journey.

Last Friday, 8 May 2026, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation (LLF) hosted a special Mother’s Day Flower Arrangement Workshop 🌸

It was a meaningful afternoon where patients and caregivers came together to slow down, connect, and create beautiful floral arrangements while celebrating the love, strength, and resilience of mothers.

A heartfelt thank you to Mdm Rahayu, who is also a caregiver to a leukemia patient, for her generous guidance, as well as the warmth and patience she showed throughout the session. Your willingness to give back and support others through your own journey is truly inspiring.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so memorable. Moments like these reflect LLF’s commitment to supporting patients and caregivers beyond medical treatment β€” by creating safe and meaningful spaces for connection, emotional support, and community integration throughout their journey.

❀️ If you or someone you know is navigating a blood cancer journey, we warmly invite you to connect with LLF and join our upcoming support and community programmes. Together, no one has to walk this journey alone.

Rally to Recovery! 🎾

On 29 April 2026, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation (LLF) brought together survivors and caregivers for a meaningful pickleball sessionβ€”an uplifting reminder that recovery goes beyond treatment.

More than just a game, the session created a supportive space for participants to rebuild strength, reconnect with others, and take confident steps towards everyday life. Through movement, shared experiences, and community support, LLF continues to empower individuals on their journey of reintegration and resilience.

At LLF, we believe recovery is not only about healing, it is about returning to the community with confidence, purpose, and hope.

Registration for our upcoming May pickleball sessions is now open. We look forward to welcoming even more of you on the court!

This May, LLF is bringing the community together ❀️

As we celebrate Labour Day, we honour the strength, dedication, and resilience of every individualβ€”especially the patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and volunteers who continue to show up each day with courage and compassion.

At LLF, this spirit of perseverance inspires us to do more.

Throughout May, we are curating a series of meaningful activitiesβ€”from educational talks and support initiatives to community engagement sessionsβ€”all designed to empower, uplift, and stand alongside those impacted by blood cancers.

✨ Stay tuned as we share more in the coming weeks.
✨ Join us, participate, and be part of a community that cares.

Together, we continue to bring hope, support, and strength where it matters most.

Happy Labour Day from all of us at LLF.

Empowering Our Community Through Knowledge

At LLF, we believe that knowledge is a powerful part of the healing journey.
We were honoured to have Dr. Michelle volunteer her time to conduct an insightful session on how to read and understand blood counts. Through her clear and thoughtful sharing, she helped patients and caregivers better make sense of their results β€” turning something often complex into something more manageable and less intimidating.

This session is part of LLF’s ongoing commitment to equip our community with practical knowledge, so that no one has to navigate their journey alone.
We are deeply grateful to Dr. Michelle for her generosity in giving back.
As we continue to build a stronger, more informed community, your support enables us to bring more of such meaningful initiatives to those who need them most.
