Lion City Sailors FC ‘B’ are champions of the 2026 Women’s National League

Lion City Sailors FC ‘B’ were crowned 2026 Women’s National League (WNL) champions following the conclusion of the Top Tier stage at Choa Chu Kang Stadium on Sunday night (14 June). The 2026 WNL was played on a split-tier format, with the top five teams from the opening round forming the Top Tier and the bottom five the Bottom Tier, each playing a single round-robin among themselves to complete the season.

Their triumph also marks a notable milestone in the WNL’s broader evolution, with 2026 seeing the introduction of Women’s Premier League (WPL) B-teams for the first time — allowing WPL clubs to field a secondary squad in the competition and providing additional opportunities for emerging players. Clubs may include up to five B-team players in their WPL matchday squad, and equally, up to five WPL players in their WNL matchday squad.

However, as B-teams are ineligible for promotion to the WPL, the champions’ place in the top flight passes to runners-up Frenz GDT Circuit FC. Third-placed Still Aerion WFC ‘B’ similarly pass on their place to Unity FC in fourth, who will represent the Top Tier in the promotion play-off against the second-bottom side in the 2026 WPL season.

The play-off is scheduled for 5 July 2026 at 5pm at Choa Chu Kang Stadium, with Unity FC’s opponent to be confirmed following the conclusion of the 2026 WPL season on 28 June 2026.

In the scoring charts, Sailors ‘B’s Amelia Tan finished as the standout performer with 22 goals, ahead of Frenz GDT Circuit FC pair Henrietta Justine (19 goals) and Nurul Nadia (13 goals).

The 2026 WNL season will conclude next weekend when the remaining two matches of the Bottom Tier are played.
