With the divine blessings of Sri Viswanathar, Sri Sivan Temple warmly invites all devotees to participate in Maharudram 2026, from 21 to 23 August 2026.

Over four sacred kaalams, devotees can take part in ๐‘…๐‘ข๐‘‘๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž ๐ฝ๐‘Ž๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘š, ๐ป๐‘œ๐‘š๐‘Ž๐‘š, ๐ด๐‘๐‘–๐‘ โ„Ž๐‘’๐‘”๐‘Ž๐‘š, ๐ท๐‘’๐‘’๐‘๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘‘โ„Ž๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘Ž๐‘– and other special prayers as part of the annual Maha Rudra Yaagam.

The celebrations will culminate on Sunday evening with the auspicious ๐‘‡โ„Ž๐‘–๐‘Ÿ๐‘ข๐‘˜๐‘Ž๐‘™๐‘ฆ๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘Ž๐‘š of Sri Visalakshi and Sri Viswanathar.

A key highlight of Pavithra Utsavam is the adorning of the deities with Pavithra Malai โ€” sacred garlands made of silk threads. As part of the observances, Maha Shanthi Homam will also be conducted over seven sessions, officiated by seven priests.

The festival culminates with Theerthavari on Friday, 28 August, when the Sri Chakram is taken in procession to a water body for a holy dip, marking the conclusion of the sacred observances.
