In April, ATAM’s Nam Marabu Series brought Tholpaavai Koothu to life, a shadow puppetry tradition where stories unfold through light, leather, and movement. We had the privilege of hosting Kalaimamani Mr Muthu Chandran, and his brother Mr Muthumurugan, who are 6th generation puppeteers hailing from Tamil Nadu. 🎭

Across the month of workshops, we engaged about 400 participants in Singapore, from kindergarteners to university students and educators, creating space for deeper appreciation and connection to this living art form. ✨ Our masterclass participants also had the opportunity to create their puppets from scratch using authentic goat hide.

Stay tuned with ATAM for our next Nam Marabu series edition!
