We are a community of Malaysians in Singapore (MiS), who may be on long leave from Malaysia but still have our homeland at heart. We hope to create a network of like-minded people who reside on this side of the Johor Straits, bringing our passion, interests and actions together for a positive impact in Malaysia. We believe in creating greater good through connecting people, using small but concret
e steps, and positively impacting our homeland in the long run. Rational discourse, civil society activities, and networking of MiS in general are our focus. MiS was conceived out of a wake-up call post Bersih 2.0, where the core group recognised the absence of a social network for passionate Malaysians in Singapore. A group of Malaysians came together for the MiS Unconference 1 on Aug 14 2011, and the rest is history. At this infancy stage, MiS looks forward to ideas and suggestions from other like-minded Malaysians. We have so far lined up a few projects and interest groups. They are either new or in existence before MiS. You can see MiS as a collection of projects and interest groups that bring Malaysians in Singapore together. Some projects/groups are here to serve the interests of Malaysians in Singapore, whereas others provide the platform for Malaysians in Singapore to participate and contribute back to our homeland.
