As the principal representative body, SMSANZ advocates for, and serves as the primary point of contact between its members and the Singapore healthcare organisations, including the Singapore Ministry of Health Holdings (MOHH), National University Health System (NUHS), National Healthcare Group (NHG) and Singapore Health Services (SingHealth). SMSANZ also provides a close network of support, catering to the interest of its members through academic, community outreach and social networking events.

Dr Nigel Fong is a Renal Physician at Sengkang General Hospital with expertise in peritoneal dialysis, glomerulonephritis, tubular and electrolyte disorders, and the integration of subspecialty care with General Medicine. A passionate educator, he is also the author of Algorithms in Differential Diagnosis: How to Approach Common Presenting Complaints, for Medical Students and Junior Doctors and A Strategy to and Worked Practices for the MRCP PACES.

Hi everyone! SMSANZ is back with our Alumni Talk: AU vs. NZ vs. SG! This year’s talk will be held online again, with many speakers to look forward to!

The details of the talk are as follows:
Date: 30th August 2026 (Sunday)
Time: 12pm SGT - will run for at least 2 hours
Venue: Online (platform tbc)
Speakers: tbc - at least 2 doctors working in each country

Format of the talk
1200-1215: Introduction of speakers
1215-1245: AU segment
1245-1315: NZ segment
1315-1345: SG segment
1345-1400: Q&A

Within each segment, the speakers will share their experience and answer any questions from the audience in the last 5-10 minutes.
