🦁🍗 170 WEEKS OF WARM MEALS, FAMILIAR FACES & CARING HEARTS 💛🍱

Every Thursday tells another story of service — and today, we proudly added Chapter 170 to our Hearty Meals journey. ❤️

For the Lions Club of Singapore Bedok, the 170th Hearty Meals brought a freshly prepared lunch and, more importantly, a familiar message of care to 150 seniors across the three Lions Befrienders Clementi Active Ageing Centres.

As this is an odd-week Thursday, we served:
🏠 Blk 344 — 50 seniors
🏠 Blk 366 — 40 seniors
🏠 Blk 420A — 60 seniors

That makes 150 warm meals and 150 opportunities to brighten someone's day! 😊💛

🍗 TODAY'S HEARTY PLATE

The aroma of Roasted Chicken Rice greeted our seniors today, accompanied by:
🥚 Braised egg
🥬 Oyster-sauce vegetables
🍗 2 pieces of chicken nuggets
🥢 2 pieces of ngoh hiah

Dajie Holdings Pte Ltd lovingly prepared every meal at Dajie Makan Place @ Clementi, located at Blk 354 Clementi Ave 2, #01-253, Singapore 120354.

🚗💛 ONE COLLECTION. THREE STOPS. ONE PURPOSE.

Our ever-reliable Past President Richard Khoo once again took charge of the familiar Thursday route.

He collected all the meals from Dajie Makan Place @ Clementi before making his way from Blk 344 ➡️ Blk 366 ➡️ Blk 420A.

When the final delivery reaches Blk 420A, Richard doesn't simply drop off the meals and leave. He stays behind, rolls up his sleeves and personally serves the seniors. 🦁❤️

That simple routine speaks volumes about what service means to us.

It means showing up.
It means being dependable.
It means making time for people.
And above all, it means ensuring our seniors know that someone continues to care for them, week after week. 🤝💕

🌟 170TH AND STILL SERVING STRONG

Numbers help us mark the journey, but the real meaning of 170 Hearty Meals distributions lives in the smiles, conversations, friendships and moments of connection that happen around every meal.

Today, another 150 seniors enjoyed more than lunch—they shared in the warmth of a community that remembers and values them. ❤️

The Lions Club of Singapore Bedok continues to stand strongly with Lions Befrienders Service Association (Singapore) in its mission to care for, uplift, and empower seniors with dignity, compassion, and hope.

With the generous support of Accredit Pte Ltd, LCS Bedok donated another $50,000 to Lions Befrienders on 20 August 2026, bringing total donations in 2026 to $330,000. 💙💛

This continued support goes beyond generosity. It shows our deep belief in the work of Lions Befrienders, strengthens our commitment to senior care, and affirms our shared responsibility to ensure that every senior feels seen, valued, supported, and never forgotten.

At the heart of this continued commitment is Nancy Quek 郭瑞娇, District Global Leadership Team Coordinator and candidate for Chairman of Lions Befrienders Service Association (Singapore) for FY 2026–2028.

Nancy has consistently championed meaningful support for seniors, stronger partnerships, and sustainable impact. Her leadership reflects the values that matter: compassion, accountability, service, and action.

What better way to brighten an afternoon than with the aroma of freshly baked buns, a cool dessert and a generous spread of extra treats? 😊✨

Today, the Lions Club of Singapore Bedok brought another cheerful round of goodies to 120 seniors at Lions Befrienders Bendemeer Active Ageing Centre as we completed our 91st Buns & Desserts Distribution! 🎉🦁

🥔🥯 Bread Era Pte Ltd baked up today's star attraction — warm, fragrant and flavourful Curry Potato Buns. That unmistakable bakery-fresh aroma made the afternoon even more inviting!

🍈❄️ Suitok Pte Ltd complemented the buns with a light and refreshing Lychee Jelly Dessert — a lovely sweet finish to the afternoon treat.

And Suitok turned up the generosity even further with an irresistible assortment of additional goodies like ✨ Matcha Cranberry Buns, 🧀 Walnut Cheese Buns, 🍊 Tangerine Choco Buns, 🧈 Bolo Butter Buns, 🫘 Anpan Buns, 🧀 Cheese Melt Buns & 🍵 Matcha Shiopans.

One distribution. So many flavours. Even more smiles. 🥰

For us, this weekly project goes beyond handing out food. Every bun and dessert gives us another opportunity to bring warmth, familiarity and a little excitement into the seniors' week. 🧘‍♀️💪 134 SESSIONS STRONG — MOVING, STRETCHING & THRIVING TOGETHER! 💛🦁

Another Wednesday, another hour of movement, laughter, energy and friendship at Clementi! 🌟

Today, the Lions Club of Singapore Bedok continued our weekly commitment to active ageing with our 134th Chair Yoga Session, welcoming 24 seniors from Lions Befrienders Clementi 344 Active Ageing Centre at the pavilion at Blk 336A Clementi Ave 2. 🧘‍♂️🪑✨

Our certified yoga instructor, Mr Thomas Reitz, guided the seniors through a lively session of gentle stretches, controlled movements, breathing exercises, and balance work, all carefully adapted so participants can exercise safely and confidently from their chairs. 👏😊

🌿 MORE THAN 3 YEARS OF KEEPING OUR SENIORS MOVING!

We started this Chair Yoga service project on 1 August 2023, and more than three years later, the enthusiasm continues! 💪❤️

Why do we keep coming back week after week?

Because Chair Yoga is about far more than exercise. Regular participation can help our seniors:

✨ Maintain flexibility and mobility
💪 Strengthen muscles and support everyday movement
⚖️ Improve balance, coordination and body awareness
🫁 Encourage better breathing and relaxation
😊 Boost confidence, mood and overall well-being
🤝 Stay socially connected through regular fellowship

Every stretch completed and every movement attempted represents something important—our seniors continuing to stay active, independent, and engaged with life. 🌈

At the Lions Club of Singapore Bedok, we believe meaningful service is not measured only by what happens in one session. It is built through consistency, commitment and being there week after week.

🌞🦁 76TH BREAKFAST CLUB — WHERE BREAKFAST BUILDS BELONGING ☕🥔💛

A simple Wednesday breakfast once again brought warmth, laughter and companionship to the pavilion beside Lions Befrienders Clementi 366 Active Ageing Centre. ❤️

Today, the Lions Club of Singapore Bedok held our 76th Breakfast Club, bringing our seniors together for another morning filled with good food and even better company. 🌼😊

🥯 Freshly baked and wonderfully fragrant Curry Potato Buns from Bread Era Pte Ltd filled the morning with an irresistible aroma. At the same time, cups of coffee, tea and Milo completed the breakfast spread. ☕🍵

But the real heart of the Breakfast Club never sits on the plate.

It lives in the conversations across the tables.
It shines through familiar smiles and cheerful greetings.
It grows each time neighbours sit together, share stories and enjoy one another’s company. 💬💞

For our seniors, these regular gatherings create something deeply meaningful, a reason to come downstairs, reconnect with friends, meet familiar faces, and stay actively connected to the community around them. 🤝🌷

At the Lions Club of Singapore Bedok, we believe meaningful service does not always need grand gestures. Sometimes, service looks like a warm bun, a hot drink, an open seat and people who genuinely enjoy spending time together. 🦁💙

🦁🥯 57 WEEKS OF SHOWING UP — 75 REASONS TO KEEP SERVING! ❤️✨

Another Wednesday morning. Another gathering of familiar faces. Another opportunity for the Lions Club of Singapore Bedok to turn a simple bun into a warm gesture of friendship. 🌞🦁

Today, we carried out our 57th Buns Distribution for 75 seniors of Lions Befrienders Clementi 420A Active Ageing Centre, gathering at their satellite location at the void deck of Blk 462 Clementi Ave 3. 👵👴💛

Today’s treat certainly brought an inviting aroma! 😋🥯

Our seniors enjoyed freshly baked, fragrant Curry Potato Buns lovingly prepared by our valued partner, Bread Era Pte Ltd. Soft, savoury and freshly baked, these buns made a wonderful little reward after an energetic morning of exercise. 🥔🍛🥯✨

🚗 THE FAMILIAR ROUTINE THAT KEEPS OUR PROJECT MOVING

Week after week, our ever-reliable Lion CK Ho keeps this service project running smoothly. 💪🦁

He collected all 75 Curry Potato Buns from Bread Era’s bakery at Blk 506 Jurong West St 52 before making his way to Clementi and delivering them to Blk 462.

But Lion CK never rushes the morning. ❤️

After arriving, he patiently waits while the seniors complete their morning exercises. Only after they finish stretching, moving, and enjoying their activities does he step forward to distribute the buns—one senior, one bun, and one cheerful interaction at a time. 😊🥯🤝

❤️ SERVICE DOES NOT ALWAYS NEED TO BE GRAND TO MATTER

Sometimes, service looks like a freshly baked bun.

Sometimes, it looks like someone making the journey across Singapore every week.

Sometimes, it simply means being there consistently enough for our seniors to know that Wednesday morning brings not only a treat, but also friendship and care. 🌷

A Tuesday afternoon becomes a little brighter when good food arrives with friendship and care! ❤️😊

Today, Lions Club of Singapore Bedok brought our 103rd Buns & Desserts Distribution to 185 seniors from Lions Befrienders Clementi Active Ageing Centres at Blk 344 and Blk 420A. 🎉🦁

🥔🥖 A WARM, SAVOURY FAVOURITE

Our seniors tucked into freshly baked, wonderfully fragrant Curry Potato Buns from Bread Era Pte Ltd. Soft, fluffy, and filled with savoury goodness, the buns made a delicious tea-time treat! 😋🥯

🌈🍮 A COLOURFUL FINISH

Suitok Pte Ltd paired the buns with a cool and refreshing Rainbow Jelly Dessert, adding a cheerful splash of colour and sweetness to the afternoon. 🌈✨

And Suitok certainly did not stop there! 🎁🥐

Our seniors also enjoyed an impressive assortment of additional treats, including ✨ Hokkaido Anpan, 🧀 Cheese Melt Buns, 🌀 Cinnamon Buns, 🍫 Almond Choco Buns, 🍵 Matcha Cranberry Buns, 🌰 Walnut Cheese Buns, 🍊 Tangerine Choco Buns, 🧈 Bolo Butter Buns, 💚 Matcha Shiopan, 🍫 Choco Shiopan & 🥐 3-in-1 Mini Pastries.
