It is the time of the month again for our IMSSA Central Division Monthly Hotmeals Initiative, organised in collaboration with M³ Toa Payoh, Masjid Muhajirin, Masjid Hajjah Rahimabi, with the support of Masjid An-Nahdhah.

Alhamdulillah, today we reached out to nearly 350 residents in Toa Payoh and along Jalan Tenteram, sharing not only warm meals but also compassion, care and the spirit of community.

Many of our youth volunteers expressed gratitude for the opportunity to spend their Sunday in a meaningful way, giving back to the community and making a positive difference in the lives of others.

These monthly Hotmeals initiatives continue to remind us of the importance of serving others and strengthening community bonds.

Alhamdulillah, our Eidul Adha commemorations began on a meaningful note yesterday with the cooking and distribution of Briyani prepared with Qurban mutton for residents living in Taman Jurong’s rental flats. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with Taman Jurong CC and with the strong support of Assyakirin Mosque.

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Adviser for Taman Jurong, SPS Mr Shawn Huang, for giving us the opportunity to share the blessings of Eidul Adha with the residents of Taman Jurong and strengthen our community bonds. We are also deeply grateful to Assyakirin Mosque for their unwavering support and valued partnership.

The spirit of community was truly evident throughout the event. IMSSA volunteers began preparations as early as 3.00am to cook the briyani, while Taman Jurong Youth Volunteers arrived at 8.00am to help pack and distribute the meals. Their dedication and selflessness exemplified the values of sacrifice, service, and sharing that Eidul Adha represents.

It was truly a different Eidul Adha for all of us.

Our Eid night was beautifully enlivened as we spent it in the Masjid preparing food together for 1000 migrant workers. This initiative was organised with the hope of fostering a strong community spirit and easing the hardship of spending Eidul Adha far away from their families and loved ones.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed in one way or another, and to all who took the time to support the meal preparation session. Your kindness, dedication and support truly helped make this Eidul Adha meaningful and memorable for everyone involved.

It is a recommended Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) for those who are not pilgrims to fast on this day since the Prophet (PBUH) was asked about fasting on the day of Arafah, so he said:

"It expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year." (Muslim)

On Friday, 22 May, IMSSA had the privilege of being invited to the Engagement Session with Deputy M***i, Ustaz Dr Izal Mustafa Kamar, held at Masjid Mujahidin organised by IMCSC. Indian Muslim leaders, women leaders, and youth leaders were invited for this panel Q&A session on the Presentation of Fatwa in Singapore by the Office of M***i.

The session provided a valuable opportunity for IMSSA youth and women leaders to better understand the processes and considerations involved in the issuance of fatwas in Singapore.

The discussion also allowed participants to raise and engage in meaningful questions on various contemporary issues, including the usage of AI, the evolvement of fatwas in changing contexts, and other pertinent matters affecting the community today.

We sincerely thank the IMCSC & Office of M***i for creating this important platform for engagement, dialogue, and mutual understanding. May Allah SWT continue to guide and bless our community with beneficial knowledge and wisdom.
