The 2026 SBF Level Three Module 2 Coaching Course kicked off with a strong foundation built on shared Guiding Principles:
▪️ Respect
▪️ Communication
▪️ Learn as One
▪️ Safe Sport
▪️ Open-mindedness

These values shaped an immersive four-day journey of learning, reflection, and growth.

Throughout the course, participants explored Sports Science in Bowling:

- Mental - High Performance Coaching Mindset
- Cross Sport Observation@Wuzong
- Nutrition
- Sports Science Research
- Strength & Conditioning
- Safe Sport
- Supporting Women in Sports

Coaches also openly shared challenges, reflected on current practices, and discussed how we can continue building a stronger, more positive culture within our sport.

This course marks another meaningful step forward in fostering a collaborative and reflective coaching community, a consistent objective across all SBF coaching programmes. By shifting away from a judgemental approach and embracing a mindset that celebrates small wins, our coaches are better equipped to nurture growth, resilience, and excellence in every athlete’s journey. ❤️ Stay tuned for our next course updates!

All entries will be based on a first-come, first-served basis and must be submitted to us on Google Form by 7 October 2026, 1800hrs.

🚨 ALL BALLS LISTED BELOW WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THIS TOURNAMENT
- USBC Ineligible Ball List (Select: National Tournament Ineligible Bowling Ball List - No Slow Oil Allowed)
- ALL urethane balls (including Japan and Korea OEM urethanes)
- ALL urethane mixed coverstocks, such as: MicroCell Polymers (MCP), React-a-Thanes, PBS Urethane Mix, Pyramid GPS Navigational Urethanes

2026 SBF Level Two Technical Coaching Course

The 2026 SBF Level Two Technical Coaching Course established a strong foundation of collaborative Guiding Principles: Respect, Open-mindedness, Curiosity, Humility, and Teamwork. These core values set the tone for an immersive five-day learning journey of;
• Systems Identification
• Bowling Ball Dynamics
• Tactical Variations

A significant focus was placed on practical application through extensive video analysis.

This hands-on practice was instrumental in helping coaches develop a “Coaches’ Eye,” enabling them to accurately identify technical systems with or without technological aids. The course extended beyond technical knowledge to address on “Safe Sport” & “Building a Positive Culture in Our Sport”.

Our goal was not merely to pass an exam, but to transform and upgrade each coach’s ability to observe, analyse, and guide their athletes.

Ultimately, this course marks a successful step forward in fostering a more collaborative and reflective coaching environment. By moving away from a judgemental approach and towards a mindset that rewards small wins, our coaches are now better equipped to nurture growth and excellence in every athlete’s journey.

That’s a wrap for our 2-Handed Coaching Workshop with Chris Via, one of the world’s leading two-handed bowlers! 🎳

A big thank you to all the coaches who signed up and joined us for an engaging session filled with insights and practical tips. It was a great turnout and a successful session, and we hope everyone walked away with something new to add to their coaching toolkit!
