"Manthan" is a Sanskrit word (मंथन) meaning churning or deep contemplation/reflection. It originates from the mythological story of the Samudra Manthan (Churning of the Ocean of Milk) in Hindu scriptures, where gods and demons churned the ocean to obtain valuable treasures and the nectar of immortality (amrit).
