Vietnamese Children's Charity (VCC)

Vietnamese Children's Charity (VCC) Purpose
To directly assist disadvantaged children of Viet Nam with basic living supplies such as clothing, shoes, school supplies, books and toys.

The focus will be on helping some of the most needy – children in orphanages and children with disabilities. The age group is from new born – 10 years old. How
The charity is registered in Singapore as a non-profit society. Its members are connected via an online social network (Facebook). The group will organize at a minimum two donation shipments per year to Viet Nam. Donations come from the gro

up’s members and any friends of the group. 100% of donations will benefit the recipients. The group has selected two orphanages in Ho Chi Minh City to assist. This list will likely change/expand in the future. Priority Items? Our projects are prioritizing children’s clothing, shoes, school supplies and toys. Projects will usually have a focus such as educational materials or toys & books. Future projects may include a focus on children’s health supplements (vitamins & minerals) and basic medications. Condition of Items? We ask that items be of new or almost-new condition. How do I donate? Join the Facebook group and you will receive dates/times/locations for donation drop off. You will also get regular updates about the children you are helping. Why
Why be involved when there are other charities in Vietnam? The needs of poor children in developing countries is endless. Large charitable organizations and non-government organizations can not provide all that is needed. A group like ours can make a big difference in lives of individual children. Why do we do only two projects a year? This is a starting goal, a winter and spring project. We hope to add a summer project soon. Contacts

Dear All,

here is an update regarding our project. Finally we couldn't go ahead with the construction of the shelter in the remote area of Vietnam as planned for the temple "chua Dieu Phap" because of the ownership paper issue. However as we have allocated the budget to help that temple with hundreds of orphans, we have decided to build on the temple land instead. Work has already started and we are building the bathroom/toilets for the children as there is no proper bathroom right now and kids shower in the open air in the middle of the yard. We are going to help build some cabinets/shelves for their study room and will furnish it with tables, chairs and books. Lastly we will construct a shelter behind the temple for the handicapped who are currently living in an isolated area at the back of the temple, which is very unhygienic and handicap unfriendly.
Will update more with pictures soon....

thank you for all your support,

dear all,
sorry for this long silence as we have not been updating you much about VCC activities.
The team is currently working on the project of building the house in a remote area of South VN for the orphans. The fund raising @ Reebonz last August 2012 was for this project. The architects from our team have been working hard on the plan and on contacting local contractors to ensure all legal documents and supplies are in order before the constraction can start. We are targetting the work to begin right after CNY.
We will be keeping all of you updated regularly on the status of this project.

Once again, thank you for your support and generousity towards all the unprevileged children of Vietnam.

VCC team wishes all our friends a blessed and happy 2013.
