Mother’s Day Celebration with Elderly@THK-Ang Mo Kio
Ren Yi was back in action today as our volunteers spent a meaningful and joyful Saturday morning with about 48 seniors from Thye Hua Kwan – Ang Mo Kio.
Our volunteers arrived early to help with the preparations — setting up tables and chairs, decorating the venue, preparing materials for the floral arrangement session, and packing gift packs for the elderly.
We started the day by gathering the seniors for a floral arrangement activity led by our floral instructor, Ms Sandy Gwee. Volunteers assisted the elderly throughout the session, and the room was filled with laughter, smiles, and happy conversations as everyone proudly created their own beautiful floral arrangements.
To keep the atmosphere lively and entertaining, our Ren Yi ladies also sang many classic songs, and the seniors happily joined in during the sing-along sessions.
A sumptuous buffet lunch was catered for everyone to enjoy together. Thank you to all volunteers who helped serve lunch to the elderly. We also celebrated the birthdays of our May-born seniors with a delicious pistachio dark cherry cake.
At the end of the event, each elderly participant brought home their handmade floral arrangement together with a small gift pack.

仁义爱心团今天再次来到太和观-宏茂桥与约48位乐龄活动中心的长者们共度了一个温馨又充满欢乐的上午。
义工们一早便到场协助筹备工作，包括摆放桌椅、布置场地、准备插花活动材料以及包装礼品袋。
活动一开始，由花艺导师 Sandy Gwee 女士带领大家进行插花活动。义工们在旁协助长者们完成作品，现场充满了欢笑声与愉快的交流，大家都开心地完成了属于自己的花艺作品。
为了增添气氛，我们的仁义的姐妹们也献唱了多首经典老歌，长者们也纷纷一起参与大合唱，场面十分热闹温馨。
我们也为大家准备了丰盛的自助午餐。感谢所有义工协助分发食物给长者们。我们也特别为五月生日的长者庆祝生日，并一起享用了开心果黑樱桃蛋糕。
活动结束时，每位长者都带着亲手制作的插花作品以及一份小礼袋满载而归。
