We are a group of enthusiastic students from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore. In simple words, we hope to bridge our engineering students with the industry and this is in line with the vision of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) to promote science and practice of multidisciplinary engineering through various training and professional development to the students. It w
ill give students a rough picture of the industry which might help them in their future career. We organize industrial visits to companies like Shell, Keppel Singmarine, ST Marine, ABB, Senoko Power and more. These visits expose students to the real industrial world. Networking sessions in the industrial visits expand our students’ connection and make our students understand more about the industry inside out. In addition to industrial visits, we do organize special events annually such as Mech Challenge competition. There are game booths for the passer-bys to participate and there are attractive prizes to be won every year. It aims to grow interest in students toward science and engineering. Workshops, seminars and talks about science and engineering are organized every year and semester. It helps our students to acquire necessary skills to survive in today’s world. Sincerely we hope that ASME- NTU Student Section will be a platform for our students to develop ourselves and at the same time to hone our ability in order to achieve a greater success in the future.
