As we mark World Dengue Day and ASEAN Dengue Day, we are reminded that health risks are evolving alongside climate pressures, changing environments and urbanisation.

At the 9th Asia Dengue Summit, Singapore Red Cross joined the Singapore Dengue Alliance, alongside regional partners, to strengthen collaboration against dengue across Asia through knowledge sharing, advocacy and coordinated action.

Through the Centre of Excellence for Pandemic Preparedness (CoEPP) and the Friends of CoEPP network across Southeast Asia, Singapore Red Cross continues to strengthen community resilience by supporting preparedness, learning and collaboration with partners across the region.

When a crisis stretches on, it can become easier to look away.

Yet for affected communities, the challenges do not simply disappear with time.

Many communities continue to face challenges related to food, healthcare, displacement, access to essential services and growing public health concerns.

Despite these challenges, healthcare workers, humanitarian staff and volunteers continue to provide critical support to affected communities.

Project iAppreciate brought together NTU RCY Chapter students and 600 migrant brothers for a meaningful day of learning, connection, and appreciation in Terusan Recreation Centre last week.

Through the DARE Workshop, they picked up practical emergency response skills and basic first aid knowledge. They also participated in games and activities, creating opportunities for everyone to bond, connect, and have fun. Beyond the activities, the event encouraged fostering mutual understanding and a stronger sense of community.

More importantly, the event was an opportunity to recognise and thank migrant workers for their invaluable contributions to Singapore. To all our migrant brothers, thank you for your hard work and dedication in helping to build the nation we call home ❤️

They say music is the closest thing we have to a time machine 🎶✨

Sometimes the easiest way to connect with an elderly is not through a long conversation but through a familiar melody. Humming along to classical songs can instantly unlock beautiful memories and bridge the generation gap.

We have put together ‘The Silver Playlist’, a collection of timeless local classics perfect for bonding with your dearest grandparents or elder seniors!

Swipe through our post to see the tracks and save this list for your next visit! 💿

Across Southeast Asia, public health emergencies are no longer isolated events. Climate pressures, rapid urbanisation, misinformation, mobility, digital ecosystems, and cross-border risks are reshaping how outbreaks emerge, spread, and disrupt communities. The challenge today is no longer only about responding to crises, but whether preparedness systems can adapt quickly enough to navigate an increasingly complex and interconnected risk landscape.

Held in Bangkok, Thailand from 11 to 15 May 2026, PREP 2026 brought together Red Cross and Red Crescent practitioners, public health authorities and regional experts to explore how preparedness must continue adapting in an increasingly complex risk landscape.

With more health alerts making headlines globally and in Singapore, it is natural to have questions or feel overwhelmed.

From TB screenings in Bedok to rising measles cases and recent hantavirus monitoring efforts, infectious diseases continue reminding us how interconnected public health risks have become.

Through this carousel, CoEPP shares a quick overview of why we are hearing about more diseases, what these diseases are, what is currently happening, and how communities can remain informed and prepared.

Preparedness begins long before a crisis happens.
