Grief is just love with no place to go.

Losing a loved one can be an incredibly isolating experience. The loss of a loved one to su***de often brings additional complexities, including feelings of guilt, self-blame, confusion and the search for answers. But you do not have to navigate su***de grief alone.

Healing Within is a structured 6-session support group for those who have lost a loved one to su***de. It provides a safe and supportive space to share, learn, and heal alongside others who have similar experiences. Together, we’ll explore ways to cope with grief and honour our loved ones while finding strength in community 💛

CALL FOR YOUTHS AND CAREGIVERS

Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) is inviting young people aged 10 to 19 who have experienced suicidal thoughts, as well as caregivers who support youths with suicidality, to take part in a research study. Youths and caregivers can join on their own and do not need to sign up as a pair.

If you are a young person who has felt overwhelmed or struggled with thoughts of su***de, or if you are someone caring for a youth going through this, your experiences matter. By sharing your experiences, you can help shape more caring and accessible support in Singapore.

The study involves a 60-90 minute in-person interview at the SOS Office, with a short 15–20-minute screening call for youths. Participants receive $80 for the interview and $40 for transport. More details can be found in the attached posters and the links below.

Today, (SPD) and (SOS) officially came together to launch SparkAbility 2026: A Walk for Change, a shared commitment to building a more inclusive and caring community.

Because no one should have to walk alone. Not in disability, not in struggle, and not in moments of crisis.

Here’s to walking side by side with compassion, connection and hope.

Charlene Heng, Deputy Director of SOS Academy, joins Haresh Tilani and Terence Chia on a special episode of the Yah Lah But Podcast to unpack the realities of su***de in Singapore — from the statistics and stigma, to why asking the su***de question does not make things worse but instead offers the space for someone in distress to share the emotional distress that they are experiencing.

Whether you are concerned about someone, or navigating a difficult season yourself, this conversation offers insight, clarity and resources you can reach out to in times of distress.

On World Social Work Day, we recognise the dedication of social workers who walk alongside individuals and families during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Through active listening and the right support, social workers help those struggling with su***de crisis and loss navigate their pain and find pathways forward.

At Samaritans of Singapore, we honour the compassion and commitment that our social workers bring to their work every day to be an available lifeline to those in crisis. 💛

We had the pleasure of welcoming our Patron, Dr Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, to Samaritans of Singapore for a meaningful visit with our leadership team this morning.

During the session, Dr Janil and our management team engaged in thoughtful conversation about the challenges we face in the evolving mental health and su***de prevention landscape in Singapore. And how SOS can play a greater role in strengthening the collective effort in the eco-system. Together, we can continue to widen safety nets across communities, deepen partnerships and ensure that SOS remains an accessible lifeline for those experiencing crisis in Singapore.

We are grateful for Dr Janil’s continued guidance and support as we move into the next chapter of our journey to bring hope, support and connection to those who need it most.
