Our residents and caregivers took a trip down memory lane with our Back to the 60s celebration in September! 🎶

Across two special sessions, Café Verona was transformed into a retro lounge, complete with disco lights and a nostalgic night-time ambience. From dressing up with bow ties and headbands to enjoying finger food and mocktails, everyone got into the 60s spirit! 🥤🎵

❤️ Day 1 brought residents and caregivers together for an evening filled with wonderful performances by our nursing team and volunteers from Couples for Christ. Beyond the performances, some Couples for Christ volunteers also spent time befriending our residents, keeping them company and cheering them on throughout the celebration. Their warmth and encouragement made the evening even more special!

🌟 Day 2 continued the fun, with our residents enjoying more performances and taking in the amazing transformation of Café Verona. Our Tzu Chi volunteers joined the celebration as befrienders, spending time with our residents, cheering them on and adding to the lively atmosphere. With mocktails in hand, our residents enjoyed the entertainment and the company of our volunteers.

A heartfelt thank you to Couples for Christ Singapore and Tzu Chi Foundation Singapore (慈濟靜思堂） for being part of this memorable celebration and for bringing not only their energy, but also their time, companionship and care to our residents. 💛

Two days of music, laughter, friendship and joyful memories — a wonderful reminder that the best celebrations are made even more meaningful when shared together! 🎶✨

St Joseph’s Home is pleased to be part of “Winds of Compassion”, a community art installation under the Compassionate Communities Singapore (CoCoSG) national movement, led by the Singapore Hospice Council (SHC).

As we mark World Compassionate Communities Day on 1 November, communities across Singapore are coming together to create 25,000 handcrafted pinwheels — each carrying a message of compassion, encouragement, remembrance or dedication.

At St Joseph’s Home, we hope these colourful pinwheels will serve as a gentle reminder of the care, kindness and compassion that surround our residents, caregivers, families, staff and wider community. ❤️

We invite our residents and caregivers to take some time to stroll through our gardens, enjoy the beautiful display and perhaps pause to read the messages carried by the pinwheels. Take a walk, enjoy the fresh air and spend a little time together surrounded by these meaningful reminders of compassion. 🌿🌸

Thank you to the Singapore Hospice Council for bringing communities together through this meaningful initiative, and to everyone who has contributed to making these pinwheels a part of our Home.

Let the winds of compassion remind us that no one is alone. 💛

Our residents had a wonderful time last week participating in the Boccia Community Competition, organised by Cerebral Palsy Alliance Singapore (CPAS) West and Rulang Primary School!

It was an afternoon filled with fun, friendly competition and plenty of smiles as our residents tried their hand at boccia and enjoyed the experience together. 💙

A big thank you to CPAS West and Rulang Primary School for organising this meaningful community event and creating an opportunity for our residents to stay active, engaged and connected! 🌟
