6 Dec 2025, a day after International Volunteer Day, TCN organised its Annual Appreciation Lunch for volunteers and partners. Our community came together to foster the friendship among us, both old and new, and to celebrate the good work it has made possible, in the year, in supporting family caregivers and persons living with advanced illnesses. We thanked sponsors who contributed the buffet vegan lunch, door gifts, and performers who wowed our audience with their talents that connected one and all. Congratulations to the volunteers who were recognised for their wide range of contributions. May this compassionate community continue to grow in strength!

Getting the information to the caregivers who need them to make care decisions is an essential step to supporting them. All of us can equip ourselves with the resources and share them with others.

October 2025 was yet another month of giving and partnership which saw TCN rallying like-minded corporate partners to do good together. Nirvana Memorial Garden, together with its associate agencies, packed 237 food bags donated by their patrons, and distributed to beneficiaries of three social service agencies, TCN being one of them.

Mr E, a recent widower who lives alone and uses a wheelchair to move around, was one of the recipients of the food bag. The food items in the bag would save him a few trips to the market opposite the road where he buys what he could carry on his lap, in his wheelchair. It was a field day for some of Nirvana associates on 4 October 2025 who spent the Saturday delivering the food bags to TCN beneficiaires, many of whom are home-bound caregivers looking after their loved ones living with serious illness.

In addition to the food, the door step delivery made a huge difference to these caregivers, and knowing that they are in the thoughts of others in the community, gave them the hope to continue caring for their loved ones. A big shout out to the big Nirvana Memoral Garden family, thank you for being part of this compassionate community!

TCN is one of the founding stakeholders of Compassionate Communities Singapore (CoCoSG). It was a joyous occasion at the launch ceremony organised by the Singapore Hospice Council. TCN is a compassionate community because of the many dedicated volunteers who walk alongside on the final lap of caregiving and into bereavement of family caregivers. We forge deep friendships with people who are seriously ill and their caregivers too, during some of the most vulnerable situations in their lives. The launch was a joyous occasion to meet TCN’s healthcare partners and community partners as well as making new, compassonate friends.

We’re filled with gratitude for all our amazing partners, sponsors, and volunteers who came together to make this year’s Volunteer Learning Festival such a meaningful and impactful experience.

A big thank you to and for joining us at the festival and sharing valuable insights that enriched our sessions. Our volunteers were also treated to refreshing drinks from , which gave everyone a boost of energy throughout the day.

We’re especially thankful to for generously hosting around 80 participants at the festival and making us feel so welcome as a co-organiser. It was a joy to work alongside Shou Wee and Martha, whose support and dedication helped bring everything together smoothly.

We also want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Board and committee members: See Wah, Lee Wei and Mui Mui, for taking the time to join us. Your encouragement and presence truly mean a lot to us and to the community we serve.

From sharing knowledge to facilitating workshops, and from lending your time to creating opportunities for connection, each of the facilitator and participant alike, played a vital role in shaping this festival into a space of learning, growth, and inspiration.

Thank you for inspiring us with your passion and commitment. The Volunteer Learning Festival would not have been possible without you, and we look forward to continuing this journey of learning and service together.

The personal development of our volunteers has a direct positive effect on our support to caregivers and people living with serious illnesses. We deeply appreciate how our volunteers are committed to build their skills and knowledge, so together with our partner Dover Park Hospice, TCN curated a series of activities at our upcoming Volunteer Learning Festival 2025 to build their capacities to care for others. We look forward to meet the volunteers of both DPH and TCN at this learning festival on 20 September 2025, first thing first, sign up for the limited slots for the talks and workshops!

We received a lovely message from one of our donors, Mr Elvin Yeo through Giving.sg and he wrote:

"In the quiet strength of caregivers lies a love that is deep, unwavering, and often unseen. This gift is a tribute to them, the unsung heroes walking with grace through the final moments of their loved ones' journeys.

Thank you, TCN, for embracing these hearts with compassion, dignity, and hope. May your work continue to be a light for those who give everything, yet ask for nothing."

TCN cannot do what we do without donors like Elvin and many volunteers who embody the spirit of compassion, dignity and hope. We have learnt much from the caregivers and their care recipients, and what a privilege all of us can share so much grace and strength, in the face of death.

Join Elvin and many of our donors to help us walk the caregiving journey with many more. Donate at https://www.tcn.sg/campaign-with-you-all-the-way or volunteer with us, https://www.tcn.sg/volunteer today!
