🇸🇬 Yesterday, AWiCS proudly celebrated Singapore's 61st National Day in partnership with GeoSS.

The evening brought together members, partners and industry leaders for meaningful conversations on "Elevating Women and Shaping the Future of the Built Environment: Leadership, AI and Workforce Readiness".

A key highlight was the MOU signing between AWiCS and GeoSS, officiated by Er. Emily Tan, President of AWiCS, and Er. Michelle Lew, President of GeoSS, witnessed by our Guest of Honour, Mr. Derek Tan, Chief Executive Officer of the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).

The event also featured an engaging fireside chat, moderated by Er. Timothy Tang, Vice President of GeoSS, with Er. Emily Tan and Er. Michelle Lew sharing insights on leadership, AI and workforce readiness in shaping the future of Singapore's built environment.

What an inspiring evening of meaningful conversations and connections!

AWiCS and Lighthouse Club Singapore were proud to co-host **Women in Construction: A Fireside Chat – Building Better Culture by Shaping Workplaces** on 16 July 2026 at BQ Bar.

Moderated by **Ms. Laurie Thompson**, the engaging discussion brought together three accomplished women in the construction industry — **Ms. Chang Sin Yee, Ms. Carisa Mann and Ms. Hong Hui Min** — who generously shared their experiences and perspectives on how diversity and inclusion can shape healthier and more positive workplace cultures.

The panel explored the importance of creating inclusive environments, the role of sponsorship and advocacy in a traditionally male-dominated industry, and practical ways organisations and individuals can better integrate work and life.

A heartfelt thank you to our speakers, moderator and everyone who joined us for the evening. Your active participation, thoughtful questions and overwhelming support made the event truly memorable.
