Last night at Woodlands Recreation Centre (WRC) was filled with energy and laughter!

🎤 From heartfelt karaoke performances to crowd-favourite singalongs, the stage came alive with talent and confidence.

⚽ On the courts, the sepak takraw match kept everyone on the edge of their seats with impressive skills and teamwork.

✨ Most importantly, it was wonderful to see the community come together, friends cheering one another on, sharing moments, and enjoying a well-deserved evening of fun.

🙏 A special thank you to our partner, SG Migrant Volunteers, for your strong support and for helping make this event possible.

WRC’s first Friday in operation began on a meaningful and grounded note with congregational Friday prayers. 🤲

We were heartened to see migrant worker community come together in unity, reflection and faith — marking not just the start of a new chapter at Woodlands Recreation Centre (WRC), but also reaffirming the importance of providing spaces that support the spiritual well-being of residents.

At DASL, we believe that a well-rounded living environment goes beyond physical amenities. Creating inclusive spaces for rest, community and worship remains an important part of building a supportive and dignified environment for migrant workers.

DASL is proud to officially take over the operations of the Woodlands Recreation Centre (WRC)! 🎉

As we embark on this exciting new chapter, our focus is clear — to transform WRC into a vibrant, inclusive and welcoming space for the migrant worker community.

To kick things off, we’re rolling out a series of engaging activities and programmes this long weekend, bringing together residents, partners and the wider community through entertainment and social activities.

This is just the beginning! Stay tuned as we progressively introduce more initiatives, improved facilities and meaningful programmes aimed at enhancing the well-being and everyday experience of migrant workers.

DASL is honoured to be part of the meaningful luncheon with Minister for Manpower, Dr Tan See Leng, alongside our strategic partner, NESST Singapore Limited.

The session provided a valuable platform for open dialogue and deeper collaboration as we continue to support the transformation of Singapore’s dormitory sector. We appreciate the candid sharing and strong support towards improving living standards, strengthening operations, and advancing sustainable, future-ready dormitory environments.

DASL ushered in the Lunar New Year with a joyful and meaningful Chinese New Year Luncheon, bringing together members, strategic partners, Council members and friends of the industry.

We were honoured to have Minister of State Mr Dinesh Vasa Dash as our Guest-of-Honour, alongside our distinguished guests, who shared their encouragement as we embark on a new year filled with fresh initiatives, stronger collaborations, and continued sector transformation.

A key highlight of the afternoon was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between DASL and the Migrant Workers’ Centre (MWC), marking a significant step forward in deepening collaboration to better support migrant workers through enhanced programmes, outreach and welfare initiatives.

The luncheon was a valuable opportunity to reconnect, strengthen partnerships, and reaffirm our shared commitment to uplifting dormitory standards and enhancing the well-being of migrant workers.

As we welcome the Year of the Horse, DASL remains committed to building a resilient, progressive and forward-looking dormitory ecosystem.
