Most people only check their health vitals when something already feels wrong.

However, better health outcomes often start with earlier awareness, more precise information, and the ability to act before a problem takes hold.

Singapore AI healthtech injewelme is making this process easier through DeepHealthVision (DHV) — a contactless solution that captures over 20 key health vitals from a short facial scan.

Earlier this year, this technology received funding from Catalytic Capital for Climate and Health (C3H), a catalytic vehicle of Temasek Trust, to scale contactless health monitoring, with a growing focus on climate-related health risks.

C3H and injewelme were connected by digital impact marketplace Co-Axis, and the startup also featured at the Philanthropy Asia Summit in Singapore, organised by the Philanthropy Asia Alliance.

Not all impact starts on fertile ground.

At the Philanthropy Asia Summit, organised by the Philanthropy Asia Alliance, Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory showcased Jatropha, a non-food crop that transforms degraded land and contributes to sustainable fuel production.

Beyond biofuels, Jatropha can also generate useful by-products for agriculture, aviation, and manufacturing supply chains — creating value from land that might otherwise go unused.

Digital transformation is often seen as being about technology.

At Temasek Trust, however, it begins with people.

Much of Tan Shin Gee's time is spent in conversation with colleagues, listening for areas where data and technology can help make work easier.

“What I’ve found is that doing this well is less about the technology, and more about people,” says Shin Gee, who leads the organisation’s Analytics & Digital Transformation efforts.

This journey, which also includes building data and intelligence systems and encouraging safe AI experimentation, comes without a blueprint — which is exactly the kind of challenge that Shin Gee loves to put her mind to.

At the Philanthropy Asia Summit 2026, Charles Oppenheimer, Co-Executive Director of the Oppenheimer Project, spoke to what else is needed: open dialogue, credible evidence, and collaboration across sectors to build the trust needed for responsible nuclear energy deployed, so it can support a cleaner, more secure energy future.

Fragmentation remains one of the biggest barriers to development.

At a Philanthropy Asia Alliance-hosted lunch during the Philanthropy Asia Summit 2026, the World Bank Group President Ajay Banga reflected on the need for the development system to move beyond disconnected initiatives and align capital, partnerships, and delivery around outcomes.

With official development assistance under pressure and needs continuing to grow, scaling solutions will require collaboration across governments, communities, businesses, and development institutions. Philanthropy can play a catalytic role — helping to convene partners, build capacity, prepare and de-risk projects, and make promising ideas more investable.

The challenges shaping our future cannot be addressed in isolation.

At the Philanthropy Asia Summit 2026, Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, Chair of the M S Swaminathan Research Foundation - MSSRF and former Chief Scientist at the World Health Organization (WHO), reminded us that climate, health, food security, and biodiversity can no longer be tackled in isolation. Addressing them requires a systems approach, with coordinated action across individuals, businesses, policy, and governance.

It is a message that echoed across the week, as leaders from government, business, philanthropy, and civil society explored how partnerships, innovation, and catalytic capital can accelerate solutions for Asia and beyond.

For Joanne Chong, philanthropy advisory begins with meeting donors where they are.

At TT Foundation Advisors (TTFA), she helps donors move from good intentions to lasting impact by bringing structure, clarity and rigour to the way they give.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to share that sense of purpose and progress with the donors we work with,” she shares.
