Wish everyone a happy Navy day 2026☺️🥳

This year the celebration is held on 1-2 May 2026 at our very own Republic of Singapore Navy museum. And this is also the first appearance of the new mascot (Judy) which represents the SWAN, Singapore Women's Auxiliary Naval Service.

H.F.S. is happy to be part of this joyous event, where our female members get to represent the SWAN and exchange wonderful conversation with Mrs Judy Kong a veteran of the first batch of the ladies who served in the unit!!!

And for the guys.... Of course we hogged the big guns😂💯

Today, Singapore commemorates Total Defence Day, a solemn reminder of the nation’s commitment to self-reliance, security, and resilience. The day also marks the 84th anniversary of the Fall of Singapore on 15 February 1942, when Singapore fell to Japanese forces during World War II.

A day earlier, History Fort Singapore, in collaboration with , organised a SVC Commemoration Route March. The march began at Old Beach Road Camp, which once stood as the former headquarters of the Strait Settlements Volunteer Force (SSVF). Participants proceeded along a meaningful route passing several historical landmarks and memorial sites, before concluding at Fort Canning Park, a site deeply connected to Singapore’s wartime history.

The commemoration honours the sacrifices of those who defended Singapore during the Second World War, and ensures that their memories will not be forgotten.

Total Defence Day commemoration event held at CHIJ St Joseph Convent.

H.F.S. is honoured and pleased to be invited to share more about the defence of Singapore and life under the Japanese Occupation, in conjunction with the upcoming Total Defence Day on the 15th of February, which marks the fall of Singapore on the very same day in 1942.

This was also the first time H.F.S. collaborated with an all-girls school, where we showcased the all-female volunteer corps, the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry - highlighting the efforts and sacrifices of women in the war.

14 Dec 2025, Christmas celebration with Pasir Ris Elias Community centre. And it's also the first time H.F.S. was invited not for any activities or display, but to enjoy the evening with the community 😄.

Yesterday 22 November 2025. H.F.S. once again had the privilege to be part of this meaningful event held at to share about the stories and uniforms of the soldiers from The Malay Regiment who fought bravely and given their all to protect their home and love one. And once again with the knowledgeable history activist Tuah Bugis

It is also the debut of our female member who portrays the (First Aid Nursing Yeomanry) honouring and showcasing the effort and sacrifices of women during the war.

We relive to remember as we walk the path of bringing history to life.
