[UPDATE: $244/$200 RAISED. FUNDRAISER CLOSED. THE MONEY HAS BEEN PASSED TO Z]

Z is a delivery rider from the last fundraiser, with a family to feed.

He has an ongoing case and had approached a lawyer previously but was charged beyond his means. Thankfully, we managed to find him a pro-bono lawyer.

Despite this, he has other stressors.

Z is currently nursing a toe injury which affects his ability to work as a delivery rider. There are household bills that he constantly worries about.

He has applied to SSO and MUIS multiple times but was rejected, save for some food rations.

With $200, Z hopes to able to treat his toe injury so that he can continue to work as per normal and settle his household bills.

If you can contribute, please PayNow to 8846 2040 who will collect the money on his behalf. Please also comment "Hang in There" so we know it’s for this! This is a friend of his who will hold the money to pass to him since the rider we are helping has some issues with his bank account

Appreciate your support as much as possible. Please share widely!

Z is back on his wheels thanks to your solidarity! He has also become an SG riders members, eager to help organise other delivery riders to fight for change. If you see a delivery rider, ask them about their day, how the orders have been? If they are keen on meeting like-minded riders who want to fight for change in their work conditions, link them up with us via our facebook or instagram inboxes :)

[UPDATE: $640/$300 RAISED. FUNDRAISER CLOSED. WE WILL BE VISITING Z TO PASS HIM THE $640]

*Help Z get back on his feet (or wheels 🚲!)*

Since coming out of prison, Z has had problems finding someone who will hire him. He has since taken on food delivery but needed more immediate financial assistance to meet his family's daily needs. He has applied to SSO and MUIS multiple times but was rejected, save for some food rations. With $300 Z hopes to be able to purchase a second hand bicycle to complete more orders, take public transport to go for job interviews, buy milk powder for his kid, and settle his household bills.

If you can contribute any amount at all paynow our member at 88462040 who will collect the money on Z's behalf. Please also comment 'solidarity' in the remarks when making the transaction.

Please share this widely!

To commemorate labour day tomorrow, take a moment to learn about the conditions of private-hire vehicle (PHV) drivers in Singapore. At the People's Labour Day Rally tomorrow, PHV driver Carmen Ortega, who run the social media account , will be taking the stage to bring up some of the challenges and aspirations of the phv driver community. Join us in solidarity! Rain or shine, the rally will be tomorrow..

"Mainstream news sources mainly attribute the passing of the act to the work of politicians and NTUC-affiliated unions, while minimising the role of independent mobilisation by the platform workers themselves. However, without the resistance of food delivery riders against the PMD ban, and without the continuous pressure of PHV drivers calling for fairer pay, how much attention would their struggles have garnered? If not for the undeniably visible, vocal, collective mobilisation of the workers, would the platforms not have an even freer hand to squeeze them all the harder?"

Join the Labour Day Rally on 1 May 3-7pm at Hong Lim Park and wear red! 🔥

This year, platform workers are uniting with the rest of the working class to demand:

1. Eight hours for work, eight hours for rest, and eight hours for living life

2. An 8 hour work day for all, a 5 day work week for all

3. At least 15 days of paid annual leave for all

4. Dependent care leave and other leave entitlements for all

5. A basic amount of sick leave without MC for all

6. Raise basic wages for all - so that we can reduce work hours

7. The right to disconnect, to not answer calls and texts after work hours

Food delivery riders are not delivering cargo or using heavy machinery. By forcing riders to use cargo lifts instead of passenger lifts, it wastes precious time during our lunch peak period.

Most buildings in the C*D have recognised this issue and allow riders to use passenger lifts, or have a food drop off point at the lobby.

At SGRiders, we have received feedback from our members about buildings which still ban riders from using passenger lifts.

Our aim is to work with the respective building management to find a solution that works for everyone.

We are currently in discussions with regarding their building policy, and are glad this issue is getting more awareness.
