A Charity that provides support for community-based Buddhist Monastics. 阿兰若护僧团是一个提供照护服务给社区僧伽的慈善团体 Most of the Buddhist monastics are elderly or live alone.

Aranya Sangha Dana Fellowship Limited (Aranya) is a registered non-profit organisation (UEN 202020882E) that supports community-based Buddhist monastics in Singapore to live in the community and age with dignity. Aranya organises regular Sangha offerings, fellowship activities and provides support services such as medical escort, volunteer visitation, legal consultation, information and referral, and annual spring cleanings. Our team consists of staff and volunteers from all walks of life, including Buddhist monastics, professionals, working adults, homemakers and retirees.

阿兰若护僧团是一个注册的非盈利机构 (UEN 202020882E)，专为居住在社区中的年长或独居佛教僧侣，提供各项社区关怀与支援服务，让他们能在社区邻里僧坊中安度晚年。护僧团除了常年定期举办供僧、联谊活动，同时也提供一系列的社区服务包括陪伴复诊、志工探访、法律咨询、协调转接、和僧坊年终大扫除等。护僧团的团队除了全职员工，还包括由僧众、在家众、专业人士、家庭主妇和退休人士等等所组成的志工团。

September Monthly Lamp Offering was held at Lian Chee Kek Buddhist Temple on 26 Sep 2026 and Venerable Adhibalo delivered the teaching on “Be the Calm in Someone’s Storm” during the Volunteer Cultivation session. 🪷 Birthday of Dīpaṅkara Buddha 🪷
2 October 2026
22nd day of the 8th lunar month

Dīpaṅkara means Burning-lamp in Sanskrit, hence Dīpaṅkara Buddha means Buddha of Burning Lamp.

According to the ninth volume of the Great Commentary on Prajna-paramita Sutra, Dīpaṅkara Buddha was born at night. At the time he was born, his body illuminated everything around him, making the whole room bright. Therefore, his parents called him Dīpaṅkara.

Dīpaṅkara Buddha, being referred as the teacher of Sakyamuni in the line of succession of Buddhas, was also termed the “Past Buddha”.

燃灯佛（Dīpaṅkara），在梵文的意思是 ‘’点燃的灯”。

因燃灯古佛诞生的时候，他身边的一切事物都像灯一样。因此被人们称为燃灯太子，在成佛后就叫燃灯佛。《大智度论》卷九亦云：“燃灯佛生时，一切身边如灯，故名燃灯，成佛后亦名燃灯。”

在过去佛当中，燃灯佛被视为释迦摩尼佛的老师，也被称为“古佛”。

Empathetic Joy (Muditā): The ability to feel happy for others’ success
Equanimity (Upekkhā): A virtue of strength and evenness of mind, undisturbed by emotional upheavals

Inspired by the Twelve Great Vows of the Medicine Buddha to liberate sentient beings from illness and sufferings, join us for our healthcare talk on 17 October at Vimalakirti Hall (Level 5)!

You can learn how mindfulness supports brain health, explore practical TCM approaches to healthier living and discover how Buddhist wisdom can help us embrace life’s changes with greater awareness, acceptance and peace. (Talk will be conducted in Mandarin)

You can also offer flowers, lamps and dana lunch to monastics, as well as chant with monastics from three traditions and dedicate merits to family members, departed loved ones, and all sentient beings.

Aranya aspires to enable community-based monastics whose needs include medical care and psycho-social support, to continue their spiritual practice and live in the community healthy and well.

As a Social Worker with Aranya, you will provide direct social work services to community-based Buddhist monastics through case management, psychosocial support, care coordination, and advocacy. Working alongside volunteers, healthcare partners, and community agencies, you will journey with our beneficiaries as they navigate life's challenges.

阿兰若护僧团希望陪伴社区僧众继续修行的道路，同时提供生活、医疗与心灵上的支持，协助他们在社区中维持安宁、有尊严的生活。

作为阿兰若社工，您将为社区佛教僧众提供社会工作服务，包括个案管理、心理社会支持、资源协调及倡导工作，并与志工团队、医疗伙伴及社区机构携手合作，陪伴服务对象面对生活中的各种挑战。

Through the heartfelt efforts of Aranya Volunteers, together with the vibrant energy of BuddhistYouth Network youths and young children, the monastics experienced a refreshing and meaningful celebration of the Ullambana Festival.

We will also like to express gratitude to all Sangha members who graced the event, including monastics from Wat Ananda Metyarama Thai Buddhist Temple, Buddhaguna Buddhist Temple, Kwang Hua Buddhist Monastery 佛教廣化寺 and Tai Pei Buddhist Centre 大悲佛教中心 . May all beings be well and happy!

August Monthly Lamp Offering was held at Khachod Wangchuk Norkyil Ling on 22 August 2026, where Venerable Chuan Xian led the prayers for the lamp offering session and conducted the teaching on “Introduction to the Practice of Chenrezig - Part 2” in Mandarin for Volunteer Cultivation. May the teachings support the volunteers on the path with wisdom and compassion 🙏🏻
