This morning, a fire incident occurred at the Hong Kah North West Plain estate involving items in the living room of one of the units. The fire was subsequently extinguished by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). Prior to SCDF’s arrival, about 60 residents had safely self-evacuated from the affected area. One resident was conveyed to the hospital for smoke inhalation and we wish him a speedy recovery. We are thankful that no lives were harmed in the incident.

Our Residents’ Network volunteers quickly stepped forward to support affected residents by opening the RN Centre as a temporary resting point for those who had evacuated from their homes. Bottled water and basic assistance were also provided while the situation was being assessed.

We are grateful for the swift response and professionalism of the SCDF and the Singapore Police Force (SPF), whose vigilance ensured that the situation was brought under control quickly and safely.

Our grassroots leaders, volunteers and community partners will continue to work closely with the relevant agencies to support affected residents as they settle back into their homes.

Thankful for the strong community spirit and the calm cooperation shown by residents during the incident. 🤝

In the blessed month of Ramadan, our Hong Kah North community came together for the annual Porridge & Dates Distribution 2026, bringing warmth and care to residents across eight locations — Hong Kah North CC, West Ridges, West Edge, West Scape, West Rock & Quarry, West Plain and Zone 1 RN. 🌙✨

A total of 1,200 containers of warm porridge and dates were distributed to residents and families, allowing many to break their fast with comfort and ease. It was heartening to witness volunteers and neighbours serving side by side, reflecting the true spirit of Ramadan — compassion, generosity and unity.

As part of the ongoing effort, West Plains LeQuest Resident Network will continue the distribution on 28 February 2026 at Blk 464A Bukit Batok West Ave 8, reaching out to more residents and strengthening community bonds through simple acts of care.

This meaningful initiative is a reflection of our shared commitment to support and care for one another, especially during this sacred month of reflection and giving.

Grateful for the kindness, unity and kampung spirit that continues to shine in Hong Kah North 🤝🌙

On 31 Jan and 1 Feb 26, Hong Kah North Grassroots Leaders celebrated Chinese New Year with about 1,400 senior residents at Hong Kah North Community Club, in a heartwarming celebration specially organised to honour and appreciate our senior citizens. 🧧

The celebrations were held across four big sessions, each welcoming over 320 seniors, as well as one special session at Harmony Village catered for residents with mobility difficulties and their spouses — ensuring that no one was left out of the festive cheer.

The gathering was filled with festive highlights, including a vibrant lion dance performance, live singing, the sharing of auspicious oranges, and a lucky draw with attractive prizes that brought laughter and delight to many. This year, a special segment — the tossing of prosperity (Lo Hei) — was introduced, with seniors from all races coming together to share well wishes and joy in a lively and inclusive atmosphere. 🥢✨

More than just a festive event, the celebration was a meaningful opportunity to spend quality time with our senior citizens, ensuring they felt valued, connected and surrounded by warmth as they welcomed the Lunar New Year. The smiles, conversations and shared laughter made it a truly wholesome and memorable occasion for all.

Grateful for the spirit of care, respect and togetherness as we celebrated Chinese New Year hand in hand with our seniors in Hong Kah North. 🤝✨

On 3 Jan 26 (Sat), our Resident Network volunteers from Zone 1 RN, West Edge RN and West Plain RN came together for Festive Cheers @ South West CDC, distributing groceries and essential items to residents across three rental blocks, reaching over 300 households in Hong Kah North.

This meaningful initiative was made possible by the strong support of our grassroots leaders, dedicated volunteers, South West CDC, and our generous sponsors KKL and P&G. We would also like to thank our Advisor, Mr Lee Hong Chuang, for his strong support and care for our residents.

Our team remains committed to caring for and supporting our residents, especially those in need. We also took the opportunity to share about the $300 CDC vouchers given to each household, to help residents better plan and prioritise their daily needs.

Grateful for the spirit of care, unity and kampung spirit in our Hong Kah North community 🤝✨

🎨 Art Against Scams – Community Wall Mural Painting! 🧩✨
What a meaningful and fun-filled day at Blk 464 Bukit Batok West Ave 8 as residents, families, and young artists came together to co-create a vibrant mural for our neighbourhood!

As part of the Delta Challenge 2025 × PAssionArts initiative , today’s event brought our community together to learn about scam awareness through art. Guided by artist Anson Tan .xel_design , residents of all ages picked up paintbrushes and helped bring a powerful anti-scam message to life.

We were also honoured to have our Adviser Mr Lee Hong Chuang join us, meet our residents, and add his touch to the mural. His presence made the event even more special for everyone involved. 🙌

With snacks, games, and even a bouncy castle, families enjoyed a meaningful start to the school holidays—bonding, creating, and contributing to a safer, more colourful community. 💛

Thank you to everyone who came down, participated, and helped brighten our neighbourhood—literally and figuratively! More community activities coming your way, so stay tuned! 🎉
