🇸🇬 What a spectacular evening at the Hong Kah North National Day Carnival @ Bukit Batok West! 🎉

Last week, on 25 Jul 26, residents from across Hong Kah North came together in a sea of red and white to celebrate Singapore’s 61st National Day. It was a heartwarming sight to see families, friends and neighbours gathered as one community, united in our love for Singapore and the values that bind us together. We were also honoured to have our Adviser, Mr Lee Hong Chuang Lee Hong Chuang , BBM, join us in the celebrations.

The carnival was filled with excitement for residents of all ages. Children had endless fun at the carnival rides and game booths, while families enjoyed delicious snacks, lively stage performances and the chance to win attractive prizes at the lucky draw. Adding to the festive atmosphere were many amazing live performances. One of which, by our very own Hong Kah North Music Interest Group, The Neybers, whose energetic vocals and live band had residents of all ages singing along and celebrating our nation’s birthday together. 🎶🎤

As we celebrate Singapore’s remarkable journey over the past 61 years, the carnival served as a meaningful reminder that our nation’s greatest strength lies in our people. Seeing children, youths, adults and seniors enjoying the evening side by side truly embodied the kampung spirit and unity that define both our community and our nation.

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated organising committee, grassroots leaders, volunteers, performers, partners and every resident who joined us in making this annual National Day celebration such a resounding success. Your passion, commitment and community spirit continue to make Hong Kah North a wonderful place to live, celebrate and call home.

Here’s to many more years of unity, resilience and shared success as One Hong Kah North, One Singapore. ❤️🇸🇬

💦 What a splash-tacular afternoon at Le Quest Water Carnival 2026! ☀️🌊

On 4 Jul 26 (Sat), the West Plains Le Quest Residents’ Network (WPLQ RN) successfully held our annual Le Quest Water Carnival 2026, bringing together families, neighbours and friends for an afternoon filled with laughter, fun and community spirit at the Le Quest condominium.

Residents of all ages enjoyed an exciting lineup of water activities, from colourful inflatable water obstacle courses and paddle boats to interactive game booths with prizes. With dedicated water crew members and certified lifeguards on duty throughout the event, everyone could enjoy the festivities safely and with peace of mind.

No carnival is complete without treats! Residents cooled off with ice cream, while enjoying freshly made popcorn and candy floss, alongside a variety of fringe activities that kept both children and adults entertained throughout the afternoon.

Beyond the fun, the event also promoted community wellness and preparedness. STC Institute of Learning conducted a CPR & AED demonstration, equipping residents with valuable lifesaving knowledge, while the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) engaged residents on kidney health and encouraged them to take advantage of free kidney health screening opportunities. It was a wonderful reminder that building a stronger community means caring not only for one another, but also for our health and well-being.

We were also honoured to have our Adviser, Mr Lee Hong Chuang, join us at the carnival. His continued support for community initiatives that strengthen neighbourly bonds and bring families together inspires us to continue building a caring, vibrant and united Hong Kah North.

With beautiful weather, an enthusiastic turnout and smiles all around, the Water Carnival was more than just a day of fun—it was a celebration of family bonding, active living and the enduring kampung spirit that makes our community so special.

On 16 May 26 (Sat), grassroots leaders, volunteers and community partners gathered at Hong Kah North CC for our Annual Constituency Workplan (ACWP) 2026 — a meaningful morning of reflection, discussion and looking ahead towards building a stronger and more vibrant Hong Kah North together. 🤝✨

The session began with breakfast and interactive ice-breaker activities, before hearing inspiring sharing by our Grassroots Adviser, Mr Lee Hong Chuang, on the progress and transformation of our community over the past year.

It was encouraging to reflect on the many milestones achieved together — from restructuring and strengthening our GRO pillars and committees, to expanding outreach efforts, reconnecting with community partners, increasing house visits to residents, and welcoming new members into the grassroots family. These efforts reflect our shared commitment to better engage, support and care for residents across Hong Kah North.

One of the most engaging segments was the breakout group discussions, where grassroots leaders exchanged ideas on strengthening community bonding across different demographics, leveraging AI and technology to better engage residents, and exploring new initiatives to shape the future of Hong Kah North. The conversations were insightful, forward-looking and deeply grounded in community needs.

Mr Lee also shared many heartfelt stories from the ground that reminded us why community work matters. His encouragement for more youths to step forward and contribute back to society was especially inspiring and empowering for many present.

A quote that resonated strongly throughout the session was:
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

With the right attitude, collective spirit and shared purpose, we can continue building a caring, inclusive and vibrant Hong Kah North for everyone. 💪❤️

Thankful for all our grassroots leaders, volunteers and partners who continue to serve wholeheartedly for the community.

This morning, a fire incident occurred at the Hong Kah North West Plain estate involving items in the living room of one of the units. The fire was subsequently extinguished by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). Prior to SCDF’s arrival, about 60 residents had safely self-evacuated from the affected area. One resident was conveyed to the hospital for smoke inhalation and we wish him a speedy recovery. We are thankful that no lives were harmed in the incident.

Our Residents’ Network volunteers quickly stepped forward to support affected residents by opening the RN Centre as a temporary resting point for those who had evacuated from their homes. Bottled water and basic assistance were also provided while the situation was being assessed.

We are grateful for the swift response and professionalism of the SCDF and the Singapore Police Force (SPF), whose vigilance ensured that the situation was brought under control quickly and safely.

Our grassroots leaders, volunteers and community partners will continue to work closely with the relevant agencies to support affected residents as they settle back into their homes.

Thankful for the strong community spirit and the calm cooperation shown by residents during the incident. 🤝

In the blessed month of Ramadan, our Hong Kah North community came together for the annual Porridge & Dates Distribution 2026, bringing warmth and care to residents across eight locations — Hong Kah North CC, West Ridges, West Edge, West Scape, West Rock & Quarry, West Plain and Zone 1 RN. 🌙✨

A total of 1,200 containers of warm porridge and dates were distributed to residents and families, allowing many to break their fast with comfort and ease. It was heartening to witness volunteers and neighbours serving side by side, reflecting the true spirit of Ramadan — compassion, generosity and unity.

As part of the ongoing effort, West Plains LeQuest Resident Network will continue the distribution on 28 February 2026 at Blk 464A Bukit Batok West Ave 8, reaching out to more residents and strengthening community bonds through simple acts of care.

This meaningful initiative is a reflection of our shared commitment to support and care for one another, especially during this sacred month of reflection and giving.

Grateful for the kindness, unity and kampung spirit that continues to shine in Hong Kah North 🤝🌙
