As the Christmas lights start to dim and we look toward the New Year, we at Byte.sg are taking a moment to reflect on an impactful 2025.

To our volunteers: Thank you very much. Your contribution has made a tangible difference. You are the bridge that connects technology with social good to the disadvantaged communities we are helping with. We appreciate you in journeying with us this year and our community partners.

To our community partners: Thank you for allowing us the opportunity in partnering with you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the beneficiaries. Nothing beats seeing their happy faces and them walking away with newly gained digital knowledge.

We hope you all are enjoying a wonderful holiday break with your loved ones. See you next year for more social impact!

[Another meaningful Saturday well-spent with the kids at Mawar Community Services!]

In our 3rd session on 11 October, our trainer and volunteers introduced the children to the fundamentals of chatbot design and guided them in creating their very first chatbot. During break-time, a fun group activity helped them understand how chatbots can make our daily lives easier.

Their curiosity and excitement made the session truly rewarding!

We were delighted to be part of the Digital for Life Festival again, held at VivoCity last Saturday, 25 October.

This nationwide initiative by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) invites Singaporeans of all ages to discover and experience digital technologies firsthand.

At our booth, visitors learnt fundamental coding and programming concepts and even got to control a mini robot car through a fun obstacle course.

A big thank you to our amazing volunteers who dedicated their Saturday afternoon to inspire digital curiosity and make this roadshow a success!

[Having fun learning Robotics]

Last Saturday (27 Sep), the kids at Mawar Community Services had a blast learning Robotics!

With the guidance of our trainer and dedicated volunteers, they explored how robotic cars work through fun hands-on activities. The smiles said it all β€” and each child proudly brought home a Robotics learning certificate. Well done, little innovators! Thumbs up!

[Our 1st Session at Mawar Community Services]

After some time away, Byte.sg was thrilled to be back in action on Saturday 6 Sept 2025, as we launch a brand-new partnership with Mawar Community Services (MCS) - YSI.

Through this programme, we’re joining hands with MCS to support children from less-advantaged backgrounds β€” including families impacted by incarceration. MCS plays a vital role in helping individuals of all races and religions reintegrate into society, and part of that mission is empowering their children with education and digital skills.

Over the next 4 months, our Byte trainers and volunteers will be guiding these bright young learners in coding, robotics, digital art, and even chatbots β€” equipping them with skills to stay future-ready and thrive alongside their peers in school.

The very first session was a huge success, thanks to the energy of the kids and the incredible dedication of our volunteers. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who showed up to make a difference.

Want to be part of this journey? Leave us a comment or drop us a PM β€” we’d love to welcome you as a volunteer!

Over three weekends from 26 October, the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) was hosting an exciting series of digital technology roadshows, to invite Singaporeans of all ages to discover and experience the latest tech through hands-on activities which are fun and engaging.

As one of the recipients of the Digital for Life Movement & Fund, we were invited to join the roadshow at HeartBeats @ Bedok on Sunday 3 November 2024. Our booth welcomed many curious participants, young and old, where our dedicated volunteers introduced them to the basics of Scratch, helping them design their own simple games. The enthusiasm was contagious, and we were heartened by requests for more in-depth tech classesβ€”something we shall be exploring in the future.

A big thank you to our volunteers who generously shared their time on a Sunday morning to make this roadshow a success! ✌🏻️❀️😊
