Being Community aims to deepen awareness and engage the community with safe, personal, and in-depth conversations on racial and religious discrimination in Singapore. Some simple ground rules we hope everyone joining the conversations will follow:
*BE SUPPORTIVE AND EMPATHETIC*
Please keep your comments kind & constructive.
*HATE SPEECH OF ANY KIND IS NOT ACCEPTABLE*
While sharing our lived exp
eriences of discrimination or commenting on the posts, we would like to remind everyone to not attack or use any language that discriminates or condemns a particular person or group of people.
*ABUSE OF ANY FORM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED HERE*
If you witness any acts of abuse, whether it be through bullying, insults, psychological or emotional abuse, please inform our moderators by sending a direct message or reporting the comment.
*BE RESPECTFUL OF PERSONAL SPACE AND PRIVACY*
When sharing, be aware not to reveal information that might incriminate others or specific organisations. This is not a platform to name and shame but to encourage constructive dialogue. When commenting, do not probe beyond what the poster is willing to share.
*NO PROMOTIONS OR ADVERTISEMENTS*
Any posts promoting unsolicited services, products or businesses will be removed immediately. This campaign and its social media accounts were designed in the hopes that actual conversations around religious and racial discrimination could be had to allow people of different backgrounds to share their stories in a safe, shared space. People do not often have the opportunity to hear, see, or feel just how discrimination affects others in the community. Please use it wisely. Thank you. Being Community is supported by Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth Singapore.
