❤️ Supporting Those Who Celebrate Our Silent Heroes

Community partnerships are not only about working together — they are also about showing up for one another.

FRSK was honoured to attend the 13th Singapore Silent Heroes Awards 2026, an event that recognises individuals who quietly dedicate their time and effort to making a difference in our community.

This event is especially meaningful to us as Derek is a Silent Heroes alumnus, having received the Outstanding Adult award in 2022. Coming back each year is therefore more than attending a dinner — it is returning to a community that once recognised and encouraged the work we do.

Just as our partners have supported FRSK over the years, we believe in being there to support them too.

Because strong communities are built when we continue to show up for one another. ❤️

❤️ Helping Joy Charity Dinner 2026

Community partnerships have always been important to us at FRSK.

Food rescue is never something we can do alone. Over the years, many organisations, community groups and individuals have supported what we do, and we believe strongly in supporting our partners in return.

Tonight, we were happy to be at the Helping Joy Charity Dinner — not just to attend an event, but to show our support for the meaningful work they do.

Every organisation may serve the community in a different way, but when we support one another, our collective impact becomes so much greater.

Thank you Helping Joy for having us, and for the work you continue to do. ❤️

19 September 2026 | Saturday — Ugly Fruits & Vegetables Pasar

Peach, please! 🍑😄

Cartons of peaches — together with plenty of rescued fruits and vegetables — turned up at our Saturday Pasar last week.

Maybe not all supermarket-beautiful. Some unripe, blemished, oddly shaped or simply not pretty enough for the shelves**. But still perfectly good food.

And our community knows what to do with it. 😋

Instead of heading towards the bin, these fruits and vegetables went home to kitchens, dinner tables and families who could put them to good use.

That’s what food rescue is about.

Don’t judge the look. Appreciate the value. Rescue it. Share it. Eat it. ♻️💚

Because at FRSK, good food belongs on tables, not in bins.

Marymount, our partner and team mates!

For the past five years, the Marymount community has been working alongside FRSK- Food Rescue Sengkang to rescue ugly and imperfect food that is still safe to eat.

Our Marymount food rescue volunteers are proud to be part of this ground-up movement. Coming together, week after week, to give ugly food a second chance and play our part in reducing food wastage in Singapore.

At the Motion on Food Resilience in Parliament last week, Member of Parliament Ms Poh Li San highlighted FRSK as a positive example of how ground-up initiatives can make a difference in tackling food wastage.

We hope this recognition inspires more people to see the value of food rescue, and encourages more volunteers to join the movement. Because building a resilient food future is not only about producing more food. It is also about valuing what we already have, rescuing what we can, and wasting less.

Together, we can create a more sustainable and food-resilient future.💚

Food rescue is where the work begins.

At FRSK, what starts with rescuing edible food extends into something broader — reducing waste, supporting communities, engaging the next generation, and building stronger partnerships across Singapore.

Our alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals reflects a simple principle: sustainability is not a standalone effort. It is built through practical action, shared responsibility, and the way we choose to use the resources already around us.

The food we rescue matters. What we build around it matters just as much. ♻️

🇸🇬 Today is a deeply meaningful day for FRSK.

Food Rescue Sengkang is going to Parliament, where food resilience, food affordability and food waste will be discussed as matters of national importance.

For seven years, we have worked quietly and tirelessly on the ground—answering calls from donors, moving tonnes of surplus food, sorting imperfect produce and finding ways to keep every possible item away from the landfill.

The journey has never been easy. It has taken countless late nights, long days, aching bodies and volunteers who continued showing up even when they were tired. We persevered because we believed that good food should never be wasted.

Today, the issue we have fought so hard for has reached Parliament.

This moment belongs to every volunteer, donor, partner and rescuer who stood beside us. Your hands carried the crates, but your hearts carried this movement.

FRSK may have started as a small ground-up initiative, but our message is now part of a national conversation:

Food rescue is not charity. It is sustainability, shared responsibility and an essential part of building a stronger, more food-resilient Singapore.

Today, we walk into Parliament carrying seven years of hard work—and the hopes of everyone who believes that no good food should ever be wasted. 💚♻️🇸🇬
