SWEDO in cooperation with our partners begins food distribution in refugee camps in the Gaza Strip

Ongoing hardship and severe food insecurity, our teams are working on the ground to reach those who need it most, bringing essential food supplies to displaced families, children, workers and elders.

This effort is part of SWEDO’s continued commitment to standing with the people effected of conflicts and we are grateful to our partners and supporters who make this work possible.

Every meal delivered is a small but meaningful step toward dignity and survival in an incredibly difficult time.

Working for peace through development and reconstruction has been part of SWEDO's mission since our founding in 1991.

In August SWEDO, on Hiroshima Day, 6 of Agust we start a monthly long campaining for Peace ☮️.

The world remembers the consequences of war. But peace is rarely built in great historical moments, it is built quietly, a school that is rebuilt, a local leader given the tools to resolve conflict, a family able to reclaim daily life after being forced to flee.

That is the work we do every day, together with our colleagues and partners in Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine and Syria.

Peace is not the absence of war. It is the presence of possibilities. 💛💙

SWEDO marks World Day Against Trafficking all through July

SWEDO is campaigning against human trafficking. Human trafficking is one of the most severe human rights violations of our time, it hits women, children and young people the hardest and it happens also close to home too, not only far away.

As an organisation working on trust, protection and development for women, children and young people in Sweden and in the MENA region, we see it as our responsibility to raise awareness, spread knowledge and strengthen the structures that protect the most vulnerable.

SWEDO stands firmly in support of press freedom worldwide.

A free, independent and pluralistic media is essential for democracy, accountability and the protection of human rights. Journalists must be able to work safely, without fear of censorship, intimidation or violence.

SWEDO work to empower young people through education in communication and responsible use of social media, strengthening their ability to engage in open and informed dialogue.

On this day, we reaffirm our commitment to defending freedom of expression and supporting those who speak truth to power, often at great personal risk.

Press freedom is not a privilege, it is a fundamental right.
